There is a hand in LLSNL where somebody said that folding JJ is a valid consideration on a J8875 runout, out of fear to losing to 88 once the river is 4bet. Most in the thread, including me, thought folding this particular spot would be horrendously bad... https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/1...peech-1705841/

Anyway, I’m wondering, given:
- We play NLHE at a 9-handed table
- All players with pocket pairs see river

What are the odds that:
- Board runout is paired exactly once, and there is at least one over card to the pair
- Hero has top overfull and loses to the single possible combo of quads

(I’m wondering how many hours on average we would have to play to be coolered like this, if we play live)

For those that are looking into answering the pure math question posed by pocketzeroes, there is more to the ranges of Hero and Villain that can be found through his link to the thread.

cliff: The possible hands for villain (and Hero) are not a pure math question because of the unusual betting that occurred in the hand. The math you can find......the actual ranges are different and will be, at best, an estimation.
