Tried looking this up online but couldnt find it. And my math skills are not that great anymore or I'd figure it out on my own.

Anyway, say I have AA and someone else has QQ and we get it all in preflop. What are the odds that the person with the QQ getting a Queen high straight to beat me? No other hands have been shown.

An additional question. What are the odds of them getting either a queen, king, or ace high straight to beat me?

Please include the math so I can see if I was anywhere near close to trying to figuring this out on my own. Thanks!

Just count the number of boards giving QQ a Q-high straight. For first, try to figure out how many possible boards you can get (hint: there are 48 unseen cards and a board is made of 5 cards). Next, think about what kind of flops you are looking for. Basically, there are two types:

89TJX - where X is one of 2,3,4,5,6,7,A (a K gives QQ a K-high straight and a Q is a split pot)
89TJS - where S is one of 8,9,T,J (do you see why I made two separate groups?).

Count how many flops you might have for each type above.

Finally, subtract the flops of the types above that might give AA a flush.

Once you get your tally, divide by the total number of possible boards and you are done.
