EV+ variance simulator not working? - Page 2 - Gambling and Probability

Alright I am going to go ahead and assume it is safe to download and run since a bunch of mods are not taking down the link. I'll just use this one and add the file to my exceptions list.

BTW it seems pretty silly to berate someone when they have reported a potentially dangerous link. Even if they are complete morons in that circumstance what exactly are you accomplishing? You're going to make it less likely for that person to report suspicious things in the future which is definitely not a good outcome.

Reporting it is fine. Downloading and running a random exe you found posted on an internet forum is something you shouldn't really do, though.

Some mod should really take the link down. I can't remove it myself. I don't trust the software myself now and have since removed it from my system.

If you can show me how to make my code available in a web interface format, I would LOVE to convert them to that. I have a bunch of poker functions (as do others on this forum) and one website that allows them all to be used as a web interface would be really cool.

Is that link even still working? I wouldn't trust it. It is the same file that I reuploaded and I asked the admin to remove it. I think your best bet is to the use the code for R or find some other solution.

I dont really know but how did they do it in the case of the file that Isaac gave ? BTW I think if you just download it you wont be infected, and also there is a chance that those hits are FP-s. Neko said that there is a Python interpreter built in the software which could be detected as a virus.

Yes, the EV+ simulator is discussed (and maybe you can download it from there), but post #38 I posted the code for a similar simulator that can be run in R (which is free to download and can be found by googling the letter R). Either way, you are much more likely to have success in that thread.

Also the admin didn't deem the link I posted non-trustworthy and therefore removed it. I told them to remove it, because I was having doubts about it myself. It's a much more prudent course of action then to just leave the link up there and hope there is no issue with the file.

There are at least two other choices. One is at PokerOlympic (or something like that) and the other is to download the freeware R and to run the variances simulators that have been posted here and elsewhere on your own computer.

The windows exe for the EV+ one is floating around. I have it. Just download it and scan the file before you run it, there is no danger in simply performing a download.

I was looking to use this but the website is not working. Using archive.org I was able to find the download link, and the download link via the site is still working. I was able to install and run it with no problems.
