What (if anything) do these actions/styles tell you if faced with them at your casino/club?

1. In a mid-stakes MTT, you encounter an older man, wearing a shirt and gold watch and jewelry. He says out loud that he intended to play in the high-stakes cash came, but there wasn't anything running today, so he signed up here instead.

2. A younger guy, casually dressed, who seems to have little idea of how to act at a poker table, he forgets to post blinds, muck his cards after taking pots, blind and min raise sizes, but most of his play seems strong and he wins a fair share of hands.

3. A late arrival at the table, a casually-dressed middle aged man pulls out a bag of beers, sends the bag around the table and tells everyone to get one. He's extremely chatty and somewhat intoxicated.

3b. Only one of the players, a guy wearing a hoodie and sunglasses refuses, saying "I never drink when playing poker".

-Typically a MAWG. Most likely divorced and will play on emotion. He'll play a lot of marginal hands because he sucked out for a huge pot in 1998 wit J3 off and it's his lucky hand. He will assume all younger aggressive players are bluffing and this is the typical guy you will make the majority of your money off of.

-Introverted Online player. Has tons of hand experience due to 6 tabling microstakes online, but isn't that comfortable in a casino atmosphere and may be socially awkward. Money may be an issue with him (or lack of), thus the nervousness. He's playing a $125 MTT with only $300 behind in his bank account so he really needs the money and will be overly cautious in big situations. He will eventually get desperate to gain chips after too much passive play as the blinds increase, start to chase straights and flushes to the turn, and may be easy to scare off by a large re-raise on the turn or river. Pick your spots in situations that you're ahead (Set over 1 card to a flush draw on the flop). Fold when he decides to get aggressive, he has the nuts.

-Easy to turn into an ATM. Will play 7-8 hands to the flop per orbit and most likely call off big portions of his stack on middle pair only boards cause he "can't believe you have it this time."

-Takes himself too serious. Will be a LAG that opens up to a very large raise with medium strength hands and will 3x BB raise on top 5 hands. Could be the type that is analyzing all of the players at the table, so keep your moves and ticks consistent. He's going to overthink reads for the most part against your strong hands so overbets with the nuts will be the best way to crack him. He will typically be the 1st player to go on tilt since he already has in his head that "he's the best player here."

...Just my thought process.

This guy is a regular (not to be confused with "solid"), but will talk like he's the best. He will only 3-bet with AA, and will otherwise be generally loose-passive unless he has the nuts.

Love foatie's analysis here...spot on.

Drunken and/or casual LAG. Will bluff huge more often than he should. Pick your spot, stack him, send him on his way.

Similar to #1, but expect slighter tighter and more aggressive play. Subject to HUGE tilt, especially on hands you drew out on. Seconding foatie's note about reads, he will overvalue them. Give him something to read.
Responses in bold above.
