I lost an all in and was left with the mythical chip and a chair.
I’m utg next hand and obviously my last chip is wagered.
Utg+1 shoves, everyone else folds.
I win, 92>A6 obviously.
How much should I now have?
4K
or
24K

you should win the BB ante

BB ante + 4k, assuming SB is at least 1k.

Then next hand you put at least BB ante + BB back in, assuming you have enough. If not, whether ante or BB is paid first is room dependent, but TDA just changed to ante first.

He's UTG and putting his last 1k chip in the pot and gets isolated by UTG+1's shove.

So at this point, it doesn't matter if he must pay his BB or his BB ante first, since he isn't the BB yet.

So him winning the hand would get him the BB ante which is 20k + a 1k portion of the SB back + a 1k portion of the BB back + a 1k portion of UTG+1's shove back + his own 1k back.

That would equate to 24k in his stack (prior to posting the next hand).

Ok, that is what happened, but it feels wrong somehow. I get 20:1 on my 1k when, if we all posted an ante the most I could win in this spot would be 10k.
Which is what would happen online.

I wasn’t keen on the BB/BTN ante, but after this...
I’m still not.

If you had been posting an ante all along, you wouldn't have been in this spot. Maybe you'd have more chips, maybe you'd be out. You can't just look at one hand in isolation.

What kind of odds will you get when you go all in for 4k on the next hand?

I got 6/1 because the same guy shoved again.
This time he had aces and I had to make two pair to beat him.

About an orbit later I had 600k. Poker eh? Bloody hell!

The next hand you were the BB and had to put in 20k BBA plus your remaining 4k, all to win his 4k + 2K SB. So you were getting 6:24 or 1:4 odds, nowhere near 6:1 (or even 5:1).

Once the ante has gone, it’s not really my money is it though?
My bet size is 4K.

I guess, but then you shouldn't consider it when calculating yours odds and return when winning it the previous hand either. (Which I know you already figured out a few posts above, but I'm just responding to the few posts since then.)
