I'm here for advice about publishing material concerning writing about poker tells in the context of poker probabilities/player psychology. Not completely sure of format but have some ideas.

I can probably manage a presentable and informative enough 10,000 words to start with.

BUT - is that kind of thing needed? Another poster claimed tells don't work. I'm guessing he's a chess player.

I was very good with tells - natural ability to start with then Mike Caro's book - different level and made me a winner. I can probably teach what I know but does anyone want it? It's mainly my experiences of £10-100 casino NLHE UK rebuy tourneys.

It's part of a marketing challenge so it can fail. But I like a challenge/success anyway so it's getting done one way or another. Online poker being practically dead in US makes for few sales ops. Thinking maybe a Vegas casino might want a pamphlet made to give away. Or someone needs a blog filling up. Or could do a narrated YouTube video. Can't see a poker forum or whatnot needing it these days so have to look elsewhere.



Just so you know: IF you know tells. And are a winning player. I know that you know that others think you are uncanny in your play. I also know that you use tells even when not in a hand. I also know that me telling you about me guessing pre-flop what cards each player had in their hands is nothing special to you. Guessing one hand once an obvious tell is noticed is like seeing the bus coming up the road. First one is more psychology/probability than tells anyway.

How did I know that A had AQ & B had AK? Knowledge and observation. Out of the 10 players at this final table hand I reckon at least one other player thought the exact same thing as me. Uncanny? NOT!


Does anyone care enough to actually pay for this kind of stuff these days?

It's really not about 'slumming'! I could do with not looking like a fool to my marketing mates and need help!

I remember Ray Zee answering my Qs about his Stud 8 book a while back - very friendly chap. Great book BTW.

I think your suggestion may lead to a fairly definitive answer from Zachary. To be honest I wasn't sure of how active he now was/is.

Whilst I'm here I may as well recommend all 2+2 publications/books to all poker players - even those you may think you don't need. If you like money, that is.

Interesting thesis statement. I would love to see data to back it up.

Do some experiments with hole cards hidden and see how well you do.
