So I understand that you can play in multiple Day 1's in the WSOP Main Event. But what happens if you advance in more than one and then the fields merge? You certainly can't bounce back and forth between 2 seats right? Do you just pick one of your seats and the other one gets blinded out? Or do you choose and the other one automatically gets taken out?

You can't play in multiple Day 1's in the Main Event.

Ok. Must be a Sr and a Jr then. Glancing at the chip counts I saw one of our room's players listed on both 1a and 1b. Quite a non-common name both from Chicago.

Unless there's a new event that I'm not aware of at the WSOP, you have to bust from a tournament to be allowed to re-enter another flight. There aren't any best stack forward tournaments.

I think WSOP Europe did an accumulator event a few years back, but this is definitely the exception rather than the rule for WSOP.

The Colossus allowed for you to cash in a day 1, and if you wanted you could take the min cash and re-enter the next days flight with a starting stack. I will look it up to confirm but I think you could also do this in the Giant.

The WSOP deepstacks have always allowed for you to forfeit a stack and re-enter at the break. No need to bust out.

As far as two buy ins to the ME, never. Names that are close or the same from the same area....well there are 7100 players in the ME this year, it wouldnt be un heard of, especially with Jr's & Sr's and II's & III's.

You are correct from a 'best stack forward' perspective, but there are some where you can forfeit your stack at some point in time and re-enter. The day I was there they were making an announcement to that effect but I don't know what tournament it was .. .GL

Yep, but forfeiting your stack is just a way of busting it. If you don't give players the option to forfeit, they have to lose their stack in a way that's not really in the spirit of the game in order to re-enter. Nobody wants to see that.

I'm with you there ... I much prefer a method used by the CPC (Chicago Poker Classic) at the Horseshoe where they give bonuses for multi-bagging 'and then' let you take your biggest stack forward to Day 2. They have 'super' bonuses for the top 3 accumulated stacks over the Day 1s in and effort to reduce chip dumping. Typically the top prize is a WSOP ME seat or similar. GL

If they allow you to bring your highest stack forward that opens the door for so much collusion. Would have to have a different set of chips each day to make it even sort of plausible.

There are some big "best stack advance" tournaments as part of large tournament series. Just not at the WSOP.

There was a big thread about those tournaments a while back:

Agree, I misunderstood what you were referring to.

As far as WSOP forfeits, there are a few, including the One Drop from today.
