I've been playing poker for long as an amatorial, both with friends as well as at small bet tables on Pokerstars.
I really enjoy the game and I believe sharing experiences is always nice, especially while having fun. So, I decided to start streaming on Twitch some of my sessions from Pokerstars.
As in general is always hard to fund a new community and to make content entertaining. I was wondering whether you guys had some tips about:
  • what kind of contents would you like/expect to watch on a poker streaming platform?
  • why do you like to play poker, and what makes it interesting for you?
It would be nice and really helpful if you could share your personal experience with me.

I prepared a Google form also, feel free to fill it in. I would really appreciate it: https://forms.gle/s9kmXxXikwRbvhZn7

In my experience, when I watch a poker stream, the kind of videos I appreciate most is where someone is spilling their mind and every decision out loud as they play, almost in a marc maron type fashion.

You never know when someone will voice a thought process that has never occurred to you before, and in my experience, even if I know more than the person I am watching poker is the kind of game where there is almost always still something new to be learned. Also, even voiced thought processes can trigger other productive thoughts that may have not occurred to the person who is watching the stream.

You may even get some valuable constructive criticisms of your own play if you are thorough in revealing your every thought process of why you're doing what in each hand. Some would argue that you shouldn't reveal your secrets or teach others because it overall makes the game harder for you, (and others) and I understand and do respect that point. But it still depends why you are streaming. If your motivation is altruistic, it is the right route.

Hi @crush305, thank you for your feedback I really appreciate it.

I agree with you, explaining out loud choices and decisions would be a way for both the streamer and who's watching to constructively gain a feedback.

I have done my first 3-4 streams already this week. I'm learning a lot and genuinely believe that the overall quality increased exponentially stream after stream. I've been approaching all of my stream in more "conservative" fashion, (explaining some but not most of the choices). But, I'm currently exploring different way of streaming and I will definitely try being more "open" about my reasoning from now on.

If you like watching poker and have got some free time, feel free to give a look at my channel on Twitch (I use the same userId) and give me a feedback
