Working with a solver at first can be quite confusing. In my opinion, newer players should start with Equilab.
1) Equilab is practical training and understanding for
the games you are in and the way people are playing.
2) Equilab builds a foundational understanding about how ranges look and how a hand does against a range. Using it at first will help the solver make more sense.

For players who have been around or are already crushing with solvers, equilab is not that important, but honestly vs a fish or playing live or in a few different situations, working with it a bit can be quite nice.
