is that how it actually works though? when you use built in delay via xsplit or OBS (not via twitch) as most do, does the data get sent to twitch/encoder ahead of time or is it transmitted on delay? any idea?

It is delayed client side and then sent after if you use OBS client delay. If you use partnership delay, it sent to twitch and then sent out after. OBS delay perfectly secure unless your computer is already compromised

yea cool, I don't know anybody who does it twitch side don't see why you wouldn't do it client side but it's a good thing to think about anyways

Thanks for sharing our article Rich; Eddie certainly worked hard on it. As you correctly stated, we decided to publish on this topic to give people food for thought. With Twitch continuously gaining in popularity, we felt it worthwhile to point out some legitimate concerns.

Thanks as well jaimestaples for your reply allaying some of the concerns Eddie raised.

Just to let you all know, we have, indeed, already reached out to Twitch's poker liaison (Scott Ball [@RuMCaKeS, on Twitter] and his manager, who I'm not sure wishes to be named, so I won't name him) to see if they'd be interested in replying.

We were met with the following repsonse, from Scott's manager:

"If we decide to comment, I will let you know."

In any event, we'd of course be happy to run a part 2, if we do end up hearing more from them.

Happy to answer anyone else's questions here as well - I'll alert Eddie to this thread so he can get involved if he so chooses.
