To be fair, he has said something. He spoke about it for hours and hours on a recent stream (the first one after the announcement I think). He probably has spent more time talking about it and answering questions about it than literally anyone else associated with Poker Stars. Hell, possibly more time than anyone NOT associated with PokerStars too.

I watch all of the streams from their house. They're very entertaining and they do help expose the game of poker to new players. Whenever I watch, most of the time it's with chat collapsed. The mods are brutal. Nobody can have a different opinion or they're chastised. Poker is a game of opinions, not facts. That's why there are terrible players, good players, different play styles, different results, etc. If poker was truly a game of facts there would be no profitable players.

Same with Kevin, except worse. When someone disagrees with one of his plays, he takes offense and plays a salt video. What he doesn't realise is he plays those videos when he feels salty. It's twitch. People will disagree with your play and they might be right. It doesn't mean they're salty. But he gets that way because his mods blindly agree with whatever he does. He has improved but it doesn't mean his play is perfect, and he should embrace it.

Love the streams, glad to see you two taking steps to get better, this is just stuff I can't say on twitch without being banished by the mods.

Just because you don't agree with a hand that Jamie or Kevin play does not mean you have to be down right rude or disrespectful. I have watched countless times where they've read the stream of people not agreeing with their play and they address it in a normal fashion. However, there's a big difference between someone saying "Why did you fold AJ in that spot?" and "why the **** would you fold AJ in that spot you ******". I can see why they would ban them, it's not that they are being salty, it's just that they don't need negative criticism while they're playing.

Poker is a lot of mental game and if they feel the need to ban someone who is coming across as demeaning or rude, they have all the right to ban them. If you don't like a play they make either have some positive criticism or just keep the comments to yourself. Any site is like that, even forums such as this one.

This sums my experiences pretty well. I would enjoy the streams a lot more if the discussion wasn't so restricted. One of the mods in the chat said "Please don't say anything that you wouldn't say to your mother" -- definitely not the right way to moderate a Twitch chat.

They don't accept other views though. If you don't want your play criticized and analyzed, don't play on Twitch. One of my favorite lines from Kevin after he makes either a wrong play or very close play is "Well looks like we've got 47 coaches in the chat" and it comes off as extremely arrogant. He's getting better but just because he can afford a triple digit coach per hour doesn't mean everyone but his thinking is wrong.

Now I do agree that people who come off as rude do deserve banned, but in my experience it's happened more than once where someone in chat lays out a logical argument, their mods eat the person alive by chewing him out, and then the person can't handle it and says those things.

He needs to take a break and get coaching or admit he a streamer not a poker player and move down stake. He keeps saying he is up 30k for the year when it all came in one cash game where he was a huge dog. Someone mentioned it in chat and his response was he doesnt expect idiots like him to understand variance lol. He has won new big 109's and still down for the year without this cash game fluke. hes up 50k euro in 5 years playing poker.

Yeah he basically ran hot with the 109's and the cash game then gave it all back in HS MTTs $1k+. If he runs better in those 1ks he could be up 100k easy this year without the other sources of income. Assuming he is even for MTTs for the year its only a matter of time before he has a big score. I am pretty sure his personal finances are fine with the twitch income + Jivaro / Pokerstars. I enjoy and watch the stream a few times a week. Only thing that annoys me is when he gets salty about trolls(happening more lately), when he refuses to believe Jivaro is lagging / messing up the stream, and his lack of commitment to any semblance of a streaming schedule. But overall keep it up Jaime I love the stream.

Kevin is also very entertaining (probably moreso than Jaime and Carver) but the stakes he plays makes it hard to get motivated to watch. When the first place in the tourney is the size of a 1/2 live pot it doesn't make for a great stream.

Everyone is an expert. Everyone is a critic. Twitch streamers put a lot of energy into it, only to be the target of non-stop negativity.....usually by cowards without the sack to put themselves out there. If you can stream poker so much better, why don't you? Oh yeah, you can't. Losers.

Perhaps because 99% of the players don't want to open their game to the other players.

Allways wondered is it really worth it to show your game for a buck or two. Not everyone is sommerville who makes a good living from streaming. Like staples who is in a good downswing and can't help thinking that how much twich caused this?

Awwwww, that's cute.

Like any other entertainment medium Twitch viewers contain critics, rightly so, because the streamers aren't perfect. The know this themselves which is why they often ask for suggestions and feedback.

Contrary to what you have said, on the odd occasion I stop by to view Jaimes stream, there is a deluge of people sucking up to him. Telling them how he has changed their game so much because they binked some tournament or ran deep. I rarely see any criticism in the chat (I don't stick around all that long because I find the stream content repetitive) and any that is will either be censored or the commenter derided as 'salty'.

Jaime is able to handle himself, he gives as good as he gets, and he makes money by sitting in front of a webcam all day. I don't see the need to have any sympathy for a sponsored pro who gets paid regardless of results at the table. And who is also in the small group of winning players in Poker.

It can be used to your advantage or disadvantage I suppose having your games exposed. I think JCarver is obviously on a different level than Jamie is, so he's probably more capable of being able to change it up and adapt.

So you go about and attack critics? That's definitely right. Maybe other people don't want to stream. I know when I say a different line in chat in any stream, it's because to me at least it doesn't look right. It could be that I'm wrong, or it could be that I'm right, I'm not a poker god. I just want to start up some conversation about something related to the stream. Jaime does have a great stream but it is a lot of the mods who ruin it. As I said, I usually stream without chat because chat ruins the stream.

I'm happy for Jaime. Like his stream, really good content.

Takes off Tuesday, then cages the plebs all day Wednesday.

I am a huge Jamie fan but I think it's time to take a week off, regroup, hit the lab, and come back motivated and ready to grind. "The grind" really has seemed like a chore for you lately man.

Gl Jamie.

Lightly salted will get you paid.

I'm tired not going to lie.

This supernova/production push has been a lot to handle as I don't play this volume normally. I need sub mode to stay sane sometimes but supernova is 9 days away and then a month of live poker bliss. Thanks all for the support.
11-21-2015 , 04:01 AM
From someone who was a streamer aswell:

I gotta say, the volume you put in and the production value of your stream is absolutely insane, kudos man. Totally understandable that you are tired. There's no shame to that, rock on and try to stay healthy with it (talking from experience here).

staples just coolering the **** outta dudes left and right...chip leader with 40 left in the $215 warmup
11-22-2015 , 08:11 PM
in other news there are a ****ton of people watching poker on twitch. I'm assuming staples running deep in a sunday major got him a massive bump from the poker community

no j Carver

- staples had 5k

Jcarver

-Jcarver up to 5k
-Staples down to 2.5-3k

Now

-Staples 7k
-Jcarver 6k

I swear when these guys aren't on there's only about 500-1k people watching poker. maybe a little more when the other people in Staples poker house are on...

Take away the ESL's and these two dudes are like top 6 overall on twitch. Very impressive!

at what point if you're Jerry staples do you say, "OK dudes...I gotta win this 80k. Can't be showing my hole cards. See y'all later!"
