I'm sorry but trying to insult the viewers intelligence just annoyed me even more about the whole thing. Imo Ivey added nothing to the game at all and he should never be invited back. Lol at calling what he did beast smh.

i think you're getting way too worked up over this.

I for one wouldn't have even tuned in if Ivey wasn't going to be there (and i am sure lots more felt the same) so his presence adds something to any televised game the same way any legend of any sport does to a tv show.

In general i think ivey was pretty card dead apart from that KQ hand i didnt see him do much out of character, i mean you can't expect him to just play any 2 cards its real money he is playing for (his own money probably)

a few weeks ago i saw him playing berkey HU in the ivey room at aria. it was on the board as 500/1000 but they easily could have been straddling.

You're nuts. He wasn't card dead he had no interest in playing. And sure the Phil Ivey mystique lured lots of people to tune in but after 2 nights of him leaving super early, not engaging and showing zero interest in being there imo you'd have to be a fool to want to watch him on a livestream again. The guy we remember from the Full Tilt days is long gone and there are lots of reasons for that which I don't feel like rehashing. But I am sure he appreciates you being a super fan. And when you have the owner of the stream and announcer Nick V calling his leaving 5 hours early "beast"? Looks like he still has lots of people justifying everything the man does to continue to prop up his aura.

Agree completely with this. Whilst having Ivey on the line up will definitely attract more viewers surely none of them were happy with what they saw. Dwan on the other hand was brilliant as he got involved in the game and interacted well with the table

Exactly.

I am curious though early on he won a flip $100k pot against Dylan. If he had lost the 100k was he going to rebuy back in? I mean obv I doubt we can find out but is he staked now? Was he staked for this game? You'd have to think he would have rebought back in but I remember the Dwan era when he wasn't buying in for the minimum. The Dwan of years ago buys in for 250k at least probably more.

So it leads me back to my original question of whether he has the money, is he staked? It'd be interesting to find out.

Yeah, after watching, it was pretty clear he’s played with Berkey. Berkey scooping up those frauded-women bucks while he can

That was the first time I ever watched a Hustler stream live, if only for maybe an hour or two. The only reason was to see Ivey. Not sure what I expected but I am definitely not surprised it left me kinda indifferent.

Maybe some people had high hopes to see crazy plays or social interaction because they don’t know much about him. I am sure those people left disappointed.

FWIW, I hate when people just leave and have their stack picked up 90 minutes later. Most of the time it’s just a power move to show others “I am important enough to do that”. With Ivey it’s probably just another sign of him not caring. It’s most likely not his money anyway.

Depends on who you consider the spots to be and what kind of 5/10 game.

Generally speaking it’s not like a fun player “grinds” his way up the stakes. Therefore there’s no direct correlation between stakes and skill. Besides that while 5/10 might sound super small compared to 200/200/400 (or whatever they play) a lot of people already have to travel to even find a public 5/10 game let alone higher.

We all know what Ivey is like but this was about as bad as it could be. Last time I saw him was on the Joey Ingram interview and that was decent. Obviously different circumstances but thought he might make a tiny effort for this game

This Dylan Gang loses 350k leaves, comes back, is totally unfazed by it, plays pretty badly - so he can’t be a pro. Wtf is he? To be able to play this high and lose 350k and not be fussed you’ve gotta be worth multiple millions. Where are all these guys getting their money from? We know about Lucky.

The best theory so far I've seen is trust fund... whatever it is must be a huge pool of cash!!

Mikki I didn't know anything about either apart from seeing him on previous streams. Have just checked out his Instagram and looks live a total scammer claiming to be pro gambler. Very strange how some guys can play this high stakes but certainly interesting for the rest of us!

Yikes at those charges against Lucky.

After reading that I kind of think he’s planning to scam the poker community next. He reminds me of that idiot NYPokerking, who fleeced the community for hundreds of thousands via his poker clubs and sports betting frauds. The scam starts by presenting yourself as a highroller with lots of money so people trust that you won’t scam them for figures 10x smaller than what they saw you play for on a livestream.

Pretty disgusting that the Hustler Live crew would give this guy a platform. Surely they can be bothered to do a minimal amount of due diligence on the players they invite in stream.

But I agree with everyone else that the production quality is top notch. I just hate that they have scammers like Lucky (Mikki same vibes) on there.

Come on guys. Although Ivey’s behavior was disappointing for the viewers, there is no way he is broke. That’s just delusional. I just think he doesn’t care about cash game poker, especially at these stakes.

Yup you can see it already. Plays 1 of these guys HU and loses and asks for a big loan and assures that person he's good for it and will pay them back. I mean you can see where this is going a mile away.

There's a difference between having money and having money. The kind of money he had in the full tilt days is long gone. But nobody really knows do they? The Ivey mystique lives on. I mean after all, Nick V actually complimented Ivey for leaving the games 2 hours in as "beast". So when you got a lot of people willing to prop up anything the man does the mystique only grows.

Funny I read Mikki tried to leave Friday's game after being up 300k and Ryan Feldman wouldn't let him. But Ivey? He's a beast for doing it lol. What a joke.

You are absolutely right, and I think that the difference in treatment between Mikki and Ivey was wrong but expected. I was disappointed in the way that they tried to sugarcoat everything. Again, I just think that Ivey is fine financially, at least for this game. I feel like some people were implying that this game was too big for Ivey now, which I believe is inaccurate.
