What's weird is they couldn't find whales who wanted to play with Dwan and Ivey and had open seats they filled with lower-stakes regs buying in for 41k and 50k. Is that a bad sign for poker?

I wish they could find more friendly people like Mikki to play. I hate that the commentators pointed out Mikki's bet sizing tells. What fun players will want to go on there and be criticized? Bart Hansen was nice but the other commentator was kind of a dick towards Lucky. As a fish I'm always rooting for the fish to get lucky and win against the pros.

Mikki said he was staked for baccarat and talked about negotiating higher table maximums so it's plausible that with a huge bankroll and higher limits he is able to martingale or do progressive bets like Archie the Greek and win. But I think it's more likely he is hired to do it to launder drug money or something. One thing he said that was interesting is L.A. is best for bacc because they have no commission and no half on six, etc. That brings the house edge down.

I loved the production value, especially the split screens and when they filmed at eye level instead of slightly over the players' heads. That makes it feel like you're sitting at the table. They did a fantastic job.

Only watched a little bit yesterday and thought they did a good job.

Do we know how much they pay Ivey to sit around and watch TV?

now that is the most logical explanation I've heard about Mikki.

There's been chatter itt about some of the local regs being staked. On what planet would anyone stake some of these players (lucky, mikki and others) in even a 2/5 game, much less this game.

Those aren't long term winning strategies. The only way these strategies work is by getting lucky in the short term. In the long run the house edge will catch up with you. Martingale appears to work because you have a high probability of booking a number of small winning sessions, but the longer you play the greater the probability grows that you will go broke.

Of course baccarat has rungood fish just like poker.

they should have a list and let others in the game, implement a 3rd man walking rule, short handed seems not as much fun. I did put a $5 chat in and said 'let Andy play'. lol.

All the tanking makes it more slow to watch but with this much money involved it's understandable. Garrett made a good fold with broadway when Dwan hit quad jacks, I would have went broke there.

How does 3rd man walking rule work?

Kinda weird that pros wanted in like Dan Smith and Andy but the game always had at least one open seat and they filled another seat with local regs with $41k and $50k buy-ins. Guys constantly leaving the tables for extended period of time. I legit thought they were having problems recruiting players to sit in. You could tell Nick was peeved at Dylan for constantly leaving the game, keep calling him by the wrong name on purpose.

Garrett was a trooper, never left the table. Took his beating like a pro. 2 hands against Dwan, quad hand vs broadway, and JJs versus the straight on the river, he made the correct fold. But he couldn't take it anymore with Lucky, after like the 10th time, with Lucky getting there. AQ versus the set of nines on Q 9 x table then 9 on the turn. I think most regs have been there seeing someone at the table running super hot. For me, I will try to slow down with a player if he's hitting board after board.

Dylan also got run over. Bart mentioned he thought Dylan's play was good but a few times, the other players made the correct play at the right time. Berkey's all-in J9 against Dylan turn raise with Q9? Seen Berkey dump off money in other high stakes telecast doing stuff like that but he ran pretty good over the 2 sessions. Seemed willing to fold more often. Maybe backed so didn't want to lose.

What's interesting is just like Mikki, you could see the the foreshadowing of the tilt. Krish made several questionable plays prior to blowdown that he hadn't done all night, just like Mikki. Forcing the action is never a good thing, unless you get there like Lucky.

You wasted $5 to say that? Never waste money sending chats into youtube channels.

On a casual 200k aq aq chop pot, Dwan shows a little personality and combines the aces and queens to steal the pot!

For poker players, this is hilarious antics.

During the WSOP going in Vegas? Not really. There's plenty of games that don't have Ivey, Dwan and Garrett sitting in a row. I wouldn't want to sit with those guys all at once outside a tournament.

I also posted the following in the S4Y thread on NVG.

Experts like Ed Miller say that a pro's long term profit comes from the mistakes that poor players make.

Can anyone give estimates on how much in big blinds these guys' mistakes cost per hour?

Miki

Reza

Krish

Lucky

And how much are these players' share of the mistakes on an hourly basis?

Berkey

Dwan

Adelstein

Please create a separate count for the rake and the other "pros" that I have not individually listed.

I took the $5 out of my wifes purse

The “Third Man Walking” rule. This means if two players are absent from the table, the third player who leaves the table will forfeit their seat as soon as their first big blind has been missed. Which is why they should have a list of players wanting to buy in for $50k min.

Hypothetical question :

You get invited to this game.
You end up taking 500k off Lucky.

Following day you find out this is money he has scammed from the elderly/vulnerable/whatever etc.

Do you:
1- Try give the money back to people who was scammed.
2- Keep the money not your issue.

A decent percentage of money in the poker economy comes in through highly questionable sources. If you have an issue with that you should stick to small stakes.

Did they ever mention why Gal wasnt in the game on the 2nd day?

Gal is great for the stream whether he’s winning or losing. gives a lot of action and plays big pots.

That said, the Hustler Live stream does a great job digging up poker playing characters that couldn't beat a loose $2/5 game.

And plenty of other Hustler Live stream regulars and newbies can be added to this list.

first of all. my comment had nothing to do with the Ivey/Durr stream. it was in response to a hilarious hand that Krish was involved in on a previous nights stream. see the posts at top of thread.

secondly, if your litmus test of the entertainment value was if Ivey entertained you then for sure you hated this. Ivey was a total muppet and obv had no interest in being there other then the min amount of table time he agreed to in order to get paid.

As far as poker content this was first class production on all counts. Watching Garret and Berkey (one very good and one great cash game mind) navigate their way through the minefield of aggro misfits was over the top entertaining. Also, was the first time I listened to two commentators who I thought were both great.

If all that wasnt enough, then at a minimum watching Berkey cool hand luke 10 scrambled eggs , rice and bacon was to some degree not boring.

Wow, crazy. My guess is that he’s friends with the owner/commentator/player Nick Vertuci (the guy who almost got into a fist fight with another player earlier this week lmao). If anyone wants a fun, quick read just Google ‘Nick Vertuci scam’ and you’ll see plenty of unhappy customers of his ‘real estate flipping course.’ It has like over 20 complaints with the better business bureau where people claim he preys on the elderly. Gross.

Birds of a feather….

I did that once w/KQ vs KQ on the KQxx chop board and the dealer put out the case Qx on the river! Needless to say the dealer was not amused nor was I losing to a one outer.
