Yes, I probably should have had a lawyer send Mason a letter asking to cease and desist or I would take legal action. Stealthmunk was obviously broke, and there was no point in threatening litigation against him. The whole thing was so weird, I didn't think through the best response.
2 + 2 should just obey the libel law though. I shouldn't have to sue. If you were really concerned about exposing scammers, you wouldn't make a joke and a circus about libelous accusations.
I had the highest stats of anyone in 2 games in 2011 before BF and none of my students came forward to say anything bad about me after all of Stealthmunk's libel. So obviously, I did not intend to scam anyone.
The mods created a “Betgo Coaching” thread in Coaching Advice to give more prominence to the libel and imply 2+2 agreed with it. Stealthmunk was also allowed to make dozens of libelous posts in an About the Forums thread I made asking to end the attacks. I could go on and on about how it was handled.
