Found pretty much everything lol funny up until this coach Doug one. Was so hack imo.

I'd like to think it was all improv , which makes it slightly less bad

Love the vids but had to turn coach Doug off. Aggressive move into comedy skits but it's not ready yet.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

It was certainly something I had never done before. I flew to another city, had to get media rights from the state gaming board, and then had only a few hours to try and shoot a comedy video in a setting with other people around.

I'm happy with how it turned out all things considered. Honestly I enjoy when I try to be creative into other areas, and even though the feedback was mixed I'm glad to have done it and gotten that learning experience.

I will use this as a way to try and make my content stronger and learn for the future.

It turns out that coach Doug is a good reg, but bad coach

Like that funny video. I think that someone who edited that video, can reduce the millisecond between the frames when someone is not speaking anymore. You can clearly see some of the guys change their faces when they stopped to talk.

Dan you need to check out this vid where Jason Mercier explains his strategy behind stacking off with AK unimproved on the flop in a four bet pot, could make a nice Poker Hands...

I found that to be part of the charm. Obviously a bunch of poker pros aren't trained actors, so you wouldn't expect a super smooth professional skit. IMO that just made it funnier, I enjoyed that I could tell when they found something funny.

Also was kind of let down by coach doug video, but there were a couple good moments.

drawing up the play on the board was gold and then the rocky bit

rest of it wasn't particularly funny.. other players had no good lines and doug's acting felt kind of held back, maybe because of other people around.

oh, the intro was funny as hell also

Immediately after the hand he pointed to the villain's cards and said he put him on an eight (which, obviously, he did to make the call with 55).

I'm sure the AUS$1.6 MIL for his $135 investment takes a bit of the sting out of someone with your accomplishments laughing at his play.

Ahh so he was putting him on a bluff, now the call makes sense. Thank you for this insight.
Are you seriously going with the "He binked a tourney so you can't criticise his play."?

"he was right so you cant criticize his play". like the guy who folded quad 7s because he put his opponent on a straight flush (and was right afaik??).

maybe he narrowed his range down to being a bluff the right % of time given pot odds???

i think it was a good call. what value hands play like that??

you guys are kidding, right? first of all, why are you all focusing on the river? it's the least bad street in the hand, you can never go too wrong bluffcatching vs polarized range. It's the flop and turn that are just clicking random buttons.

this. especially the turn.

it's a moot point all around though. he was a bad player who didn't want to fold so he didn't.

No, I am saying that the guy was confident in his reads and had the courage to stick with them and that anyone that writes "LOL" to that call in an effort to disparage him is a smug idiot. Speaking of which ...

Hey Doug, I love your channel. I've cashed every tournament I've played since I started watching your show religiously so from my perspective you're putting out really good content.

On the Coach Doug video I thought it was really funny and a concept I'd like to see more fleshed out in a longer totally fictional short, but as some general feedback I think you're much more comfortable with your comedy and it's funnier when you're playing the straight man as opposed to playing the clown. This isn't a knock against your sense of humor, it's generally considered harder to play the role of the straight man in a comedy setting and it's usually the more experienced comic that takes that role. But seeing as how you're an intellectual and look more like a Simon Pegg type than a Nick Frost type I think it's the role that comes more naturally to you. The Vanessa Selbst video for example had me explode laughing with your mocking but played completely straight breakdown of what her 5bet shoving range looks like 400 blinds deep in a pot limit hold em game.

I think the coach doug video was good. I think it's good for the community to show a different side to poker players. Something not so serious that is up-beat. Because everyone thinks poker players are degenerate seedy old men or nerds. Like this video would be a good way to introduce people into poker because it really sets a good tone and shows that the poker players can be normal dudes, rather than just crunching numbers, talking strategy or talking about news.
