You do you - Doug... but politics is like getting gum on the bottom of your shoe.

Once your step on it, its hard to get it off and stays there forever.

You'll never know how your content is interpreted 10-15 years later when you've moved onto the next phase of your life, even if you are the jester of the court.

Just my opinion though. Best of luck.

Your content is good and it's inspired me to start dabbling in YouTube/Twitch.

Bitcoin is actually making quite a ridiculous upswing in terms of dollar value. Does anyone with more knowledge on coins know if this has to do with Chinese tariffs?

Nothing to do with China. $22M in shorts were liquidated on Bitmex, which will far exceed the amount of money "lost" rebuying BTC's sold in the 5K range. The timeline for BTC's implosion was extended significantly when the MTGox claim submission deadline was delayed again to late October. This basically bought more time for the Bitcoin oligopoly to continue manipulating price. Remember the supply shock of the frozen BTC far exceeds the amount of money in the entire crypto sphere at current spot price. When that BTC is released, the price will crater, either because the escrow sells it, which tanked the market extremely hard in 2018, or because it's released to individual creditors who would all eagerly take 1000%+ profits.

But you know, store of value.

yeah thats a good idea, because we all know how much people who are " politically affiliated" like to laugh at themselves.

you would have to have a political slant and pander to your demo but if your gonna do that you could just try to blow yourself for tokens on ********** instead , same outcome ,less effort.

You could always just do a look how ******ed everyone is on both sides and laugh at that. Let's face it both parties are cults and need their heads bashed in for stupidity and allowing themselves to get brainwashed. It's probably the most toxic field ever that you could get into, it's just a ****show wrapped up in cultmania.

New vid today. Interesting point re: the prestige of the WSOP suffering from the lower buy-in events like the Colossus and Big 50. There are still some tournaments on the schedule that are beyond the bankroll of your typical shot taker or weekend warrior, but I do think Doug's argument has some merit. When anyone can afford to play the WSOP, the series loses some of its "premium" aura. You can argue that stuff like the SHRB, Poker Masters, and Triton events are closer to the spirit of the original WSOP than the current series itself. You aren't going to see many amateurs in those tournaments, just top pros and a few ultra rich whales/rec players. That's how the WSOP used to be when the fields were small.

That being said, from a business standpoint there is probably a lot more money to be made registering tens of thousands of people for relatively small buy-ins compared with catering to a small population of high rollers. I'm guessing the rake would reflect that, but also the spillover of people buying overpriced food, staying in Caesars properties, gambling in the pit, etc. It's probably just better for business even though Doug has a good point that the WSOP has become less prestigious and more accessible, like a Mercedes turning into a Honda.

Personally, I feel like they should raise the buy-in for the ME (maybe to something between $25-50k) since it's been a flat $10k for a long time and the price no longer reflects a "world championship" level compared to other series, but they're in a bind because it's their centerpiece and such a massive draw that they probably don't want to tinker with the formula.

I think 10k in the early days of the WSOP is like 40-50k now. Big difference. The Horse event is basically the real Main event as it's a $50k if I remember correctly.

According to this inflation calculator $10k in 1970 is $66k now. A $10k is peanuts next to that.

I wonder if they changed the WSOP back to every event having a $1K+ buy-in (except employees event since that event has been $500 since the expansion of the WSOP), but instead they added a "WSOP Deep Stack Series" that started just after the ME? I guess would just be a WSOP Circuit series... but maybe that would be a way to add more prestige to the WSOP, while also being able to have smaller buy-in tournaments.

It was a poker news video. Mostly talked about the possible angle shoot in the $50K NLHE final table. Talked about a few other stories from the WSOP. Only playing the ME (in addition to the HU tournament he already played in)

If Polk goes into politics I hope he'll ask questions rather than simply being another one of 1000s giving your opinion.
