So from what I gathered Doug's site was selling a PLO master course with Jnandez's name on it but it was really a $10 plo course as a 10plo hobbyist was primarily behind the course.

Dougs site (upswing) was paying Jnandez to create content (the quality of which is pretty much universally considered very good).

Drama happened, Jnandez left and started his own site (although maybe not in that order) and payed a 10 PLO player barely nothing to do most of the work for plo content on the new Jnandez site.

The 10 PLO player posted his experience working for JN earlier in response to JN posting his experience working for Doug.

The $10plo guy said that he was helping JN with the PLO content on Upswing and getting 30% of JN's cut.

Was the "mastermind" thing part of Upswing? If so then you're right.

But I thought "mastermind" was launched by JN after he left upswing - and that's what the 10 PLO guy worked on.

Mastermind is JN's product on new site, PLO Lab was the monthly sub on upswing, both of which Horse (the '10 plo player' .. aka guy with many hours working with solvers) was helping create content for ~20% cut on upswing and a pay rate on mastermind.

Pretty sure everyone who bought a $1k plo instructional course created by a 10pl player is due their money back

It's solver work guys, running them is very time consuming but anyone can do it, you don't have to be good at poker, a lot of the devs don't even play anymore.

He runs the sims, condenses results, Mid high stakes player represents and presents them, shouldn't be any issue with that.

Only if Fernando just reads the PowerPoint and interpretations word by word as seemed to be the case on some of his new sites courses it just becomes meh

This is pretty close to what was happening. He didn't give zero input though. Sometimes Filip couldn't make up a reason so jnandez would make up a reason for the solver's action.

Boxing is so lame tho, it's probably the worst fight sport there is. It's just so unlike real fighting. In a real fight you don't have a pillow protecting your hands that let you just bash someones face over and over. In a real fight your hands will get jacked up from all that punching. The reason's to buy your own related domain's like downswing.com or upswingsucksapeballs.com are of course trivial and good thing to do.

However buying competing domain's sounds like a sign of weakness and in this instance it's a douce move. Since RIO is trying to launch a actual poker site that is inspired from the bad direction pokerstars has decided to take in recent year's, something you have talked a lot about as well.
It's something that could benefit the entire poker community, so why get in their way ? You say you want your customer's to have the best study material and you reaaaaally care about your customers. But you don't care about the actual environment your customers deal with ?

Just because something is legal to do, does not make it ethically sound, does not make it good or bad. It can still be unethical. In this instance I judge it as unethical and a douche move. And I believe if you look closely you would come to the same conclusion. Just be honest man, because you make it sound like "Everyone does this people! That makes it alright!" Well no it does not.

Sigh. Give up the domain Doug, it seems your audience is quite ruffled over it.
