A person that plays professionally like BigDog for a source of income, how often is it to have a slump like that? How many months of bills do you have to have saved to afford the swings?

He also mentioned he has side businesses like TPE and other things so his sole source of income isn't grinding tournaments. I'd assume his side investments covers his living expenses. He also won over $400K in a week in which he took a year off. IRC he doesn't have to pay tax on that being from Canada...

It's fair to ask whether bigdog is profitable any more. He hasn't won for two and half years and the games are much harder now.

Its really hard NOT to beat tournaments considering its the fishiest poker format, especially for a player who has been successful in them few years back.

The subject is pretty much solved at this stage, I won't say any more on that, but there is no lingering resentment towards bigdog on my part.

FWIW, I'd only seen him shotgun maybe two beers but I'm willing to accept there was probably more, I just didn't see them.

I was aware of the troll, I think bigdog was entitled to be pissed off at the troll, clearly I didn't like the choice of words but I appreciate that people lose control when riled. And I do watch other streams and my interest in the poker streams is drifting quickly and going towards other games.

Fwiw, again, I still think bigdog is easily the most entertaining streamer of all poker streams because he isn't the corporate whore (apart from his own site) that other streamers are. He generally does what he wants and isn't toadying up to sponsors or telling us what free stuff he is trying to blag. I hope he is streaming again soon because he entertained a lot of people. ETA: He also doesn't use the tedious buzzwords like biebers, flicking it in, vamos etc. every ten seconds which can be more grating than anything else at times (I realise that makes me sound like I am now having a go at Jaime but that's not my intention, I like Jaime and he will most likely be subscribed to at some point in the future when I start liking poker again).

I feel bad for all the "investors" in his WSOP Main Event Package. He had huge markup, which obviously paid for airfare, hotel, buyin, etc with him having no real skin in the game.

And it looks like he pretty much punted 300 big blinds before Day 1 dinner break. I guess he played the longest, slowest structure tournament of the year like a typical online turbo. Bummer for his "investors".

He raised $17,280 while keeping 30% equity for himself, so even after buyin, flight, hotel, he probably came out ahead a couple g's. I think he pretty much skipped town right after busting. And I was mistaken, he limped into dinner break and then went busto shortly after. You can read his tweets, something about getting into a aggro blind vs blind battle (before antes even kicked in I think). Not exactly a ME Day 1 strategy imho, as even a starting stack of 30K is 60bbs at start of Day 2. #justbagandtag

Don't feel bad for investors who pay huge MU in what is a crapshoot for the most part. Yeah, skill edge is important, but navigating huge fields in one off events is still something that requires a tonne of luck and good fortune.

I mean, FWIW, I generally consider selling shares at a big MU as a bit scummy. It means you're either delusional about your own edge or you want to lure in suckers who don't understand variance, or both.
But whatever, as bhoy said, it's a free market, if someone wants to buy who am I to argue about it.
Most of us don't have the time or the interest to follow other ppls lives en detail on twitter or wherever, that's why providing some cliffs about accusations is not a bad idea.
