So, Live at the Commerce launched today. Anyone check it out?
I just started it on my Ipad and keep hitting 1080p, it just looks like crap. It's fuzzy and washed out, it's amazing they can't replicate HCL's quality. And of course it's still all black errrything

I guess Garrett was originally supposed to play, but it went from 200/400 to 50/100 and he didn't wanna waste his time.
Pretty boring lineup, just retreads from LATB and HCL, nobody "special" for the premier

Also they can't even spell Berkey's name right on his graphics, "Berky"
Supposedly the goal is to franchise "Live at the _____" around the USA

I watched this for an hour. Pretty bad overall.

To start, the video and audio was terrible (they slightly fixed it) but you couldn't hear players, chip shuffling was super loud, and announcers would not be quiet when player tried to talk. Obvious they didn't do a test run prior to start

One announcer the "tourney reg" was extremely annoying. Kept taking about solver land , like bro come on. Anyone that wants to hear solver analysis isn't watching a live poker stream. He finally toned it down once chat went off complaining on him.

Lineup was dull.

If they want to compete in live stream, they need to just get rid of whoever they put in charge to manage all these fail attempts. Also fire audio / video guy.

The funny part about this is that Berkey was saying before he even went on, that it's clear that they aren't putting enough production value into the stream and are trying to cut corners. This thumbnail says it all. Somebody spent about 30s doing this in Canva, instead of taking another half hour to fix the lighting on the faces and put some effort into it.

Didn’t watch live at the commerce but it’s a little weird that triton, pokergo, HCL, and the lodge have all managed to produce high quality streams while these guys keep failing miserably. If it was something anyone cared about, you might wonder what’s going on behind the scenes.

It just objectively looks like a low rent stream, everything’s fuzzy and faded. I don’t understand how they can’t get better equipment or fix the audio, etc.

And if you’re not going to, you better have Garrett or Dwan, Robl to offset that. Not some random LA Asian players and Berkey

This is why I feel like these streams are nothing more than glorified private games. It's just "random Asian players and Berkey" or Mariano, Nik Airball, etc. It's the same lineup every day with everyone playing 70% of hands which for me doesn't make it watchable from a poker purist perspective. It's just noise.

After reading the last few messages this morning I decided to check it out, searched it up on YouTube on my tv. Only watched 15 minutes, it was actually comical it was so bad.

The comical part was before they started playing they had a ribbon cutting ceremony where they introduced some of the people behind the show, production, etc. None of them had any energy at all. Their words were saying how excited they were and what a huge deal it is starting the stream at Commerce... but they were very monotone, low energy. No way they should have been on camera, almost seemed like a comedy skit where the goal was to act the opposite of your words.

Then they had player intro's in a quick interview where the spotlight was on them. Most either barely spoke English or were super awkward/quiet in that kind of situation.

The hot blonde in the nice outfit and the other dude host with the braids/ cool hair and fancy suit were good with the requisite energy and personality. But everyone else... my god it was bad.

Then the play started and like others said, the production was sub-par. Looked like something that was created a few years ago when poker first started streaming.

Only watched about 5 minutes of play, so super small sample but the broadcasters were not good either.

I think the big underlying unfixable problem is Baily clearly wants to use to the stream as an AD. How many times did they cut away to show us the Baily logo or the live at logo. If i heard an announcer shill for the app 1 time i hears it 50 times. Then the announcers couldn't stop talking about how great commerce. The Ribbon cutting was cringe AF. Its like they want to make it some huge event but then they treat the actual event like ****.

I was one of the idiots who waited 90 minutes for the stream to begin so I have the right to speak

1st off.... The really pretty girl was lost. She can move in with me though .... but wow what a trainwreck hosting. "Hi who are you?"

She tried though and is the only person I think who actually did try. So we got to give her that.

The production was obviously below amateur quality and laughable. So let's not get that detail blurry ( get it?)

1/3 of the the main camera shot was a backpack on the floor.

2nd worst was the commentators. WTF was that babbling jibberish about their personal stuff. 0 awareness.

1st worse however is dreadlocks guy. I cannot stand him.

That's like the 2nd or 3rd time i have seen him around poker stuff with no reference as to who he is or why he is relevant to the poker world, so if there is a relevance please enlighten me.

(I will hang up and listen)

The production has been bad every since Ryan left to HCL. It's especially bad considering they are in LA. They can easily find a good production team. It has been years and the lighting is still awful.

I think they just wanted a "look", like they literally took an ad out for "Cool looking guy" and came out with this cartoon character.

I don't think he has any poker affiliation prior to doing the Ballys stuff. The same people who think the blurry graphics and blacked out everything think he's hip and edgy.

When I said dreadlocks and blondie were good I was just referring to their energy. Nothing to do with the poker knowledge or anything. Really was comical though with the dullness of all the players/crew compared to the those two. On a scale from 1-100 of charisma .....players/crew were between 0-10 while dreadlocks/blondie were 90-100 with nothing in the middle.

The commentators were just talking over the players for like 10 minutes straight.

That's a problem on a lot of streams. Commentators seem to think they're the stars of the show.
