For the viewer, I think this is great that HCL gets competition. And I think Persson is capable putting on sicker games as he is willing to invite super pros like Robl in the mix.

Yeah Persson will get good games running but will not be consistent as HCL, unless they find a harder worker than Ryan.

Btw, what is the fascination with starting poker streams, big production costs, takes a long long time to get an ROI no?
How much can a stream actually earn?

Huge youtube channels earn millions but they have millions of subscribers, Poker niche doesn't seem to be that big.

If someone actually figured out how to cross platform stream and use superchats and subscriptions for more than just “for the crew” like many livestreams do, then it wouldn’t take that much to monetize it. Livestream channels take less subscribers to pull in more money.

I think even if it’s not that big yet, it has alot of potential to become very popular if done properly.

Poker is a mixture of emotions, psychology, variance, action, money, charisma. All these things appeal to many people.

Hustler is leading the way and I think they are already brining many young people to poker who haven’t played before just as Moneymaker, WPT streams and HSP brought the players from previous generations.

Agreed. This thread is akin to the people that said esports and video game streaming would never catch on. Now it’s a multibillion dollar industry. Part of being a first mover is taking the risk that you will fail.

I'm really glad it's competitive high stakes poker. Would hate to watch non competitive high stakes poker.

On another note, pretty cool that it's gonna be hosted in vegas.

Moving the production from LA to Vegas seemed like the perfect time to move away from the dark set that everyone hated. Their stream is still unwatchable until it changes.

The effort is there, no doubt. Still visual just doesn't do it for me.

So many shows with good layouts, no need to be so outta the box. PAD, HSP, PokerGo stuff, HCL all looks so much better on the screen.

The Vegas location should be great for some new faces. Instead we get brown balla and Nik airball.

I like the idea of a TV game with a "Nit Tax" but think they should consider some tweaks.

Suggestions to consider:

-If every player in the game has a VPIP above 35%, make the biggest winner or the player with the lowest PFR pay it.

-Ban limping

What were the penalties if people had lower than 35%? I watched a bit and saw people limping garbage probably to pump up the vpip which is kinda stupid, feels like those app games with a min vpip requirement

only things that make streams worth watching:
1) someone losing their mind trying to steam roll a table
2) people getting their soul crushed for amounts of money they probably cant afford to lose.
