I like Joey but he needs to be smarter how he gets himself out there

I mean common if you want to brand yourself play the main event or other publicised events, I am sure he could get a stake, Its all abooout the branding laaaaads and I think he needs to realise the value of doing such a thing.

Reminder that I will be live in about 2.5 hours with Cate Hall to discuss her sexism in poker article, more about her own poker career and many other things Should be a learning experience for some of the hardcore papis.

Will comment on the posts in a bit. Duffy Clown def agree 10000% with you on that type of stuff. For the most part I've always been 90% focused on playing poker 5-10% if that on my "brand" or podcasts or however you want to look at it. I don't really think playing the main event or other publicised events in a tournament setting are the best gto way to do that unless I happened to win it somehow but certainly some value there. I was going to play the main event this year but decided I was probably better off playing in the 5-10-25 plo games running at Aria but regretted it after the last day just because it is the main event

I def realize the value in branding but up until now it has never been a focus or something i really put much thought into. I think some of these random Twitch people have done a better job with it lol To be honest, I know what the idea of branding is but don't really have much knowledge on what it means or how to do better at it. I just sort of do things and to this point it has worked pretty well. I've always tried to be really good at the podcast part of things and worry about the other stuff down the road. I do want more people to find my stuff and I realize that without worrying about the other stuff, they might not find it for a long time or ever. Meeting a lot of people in Vegas at live poker and in the live poker world helped me to see that most people aren't really on twoplustwo or twitter, there is this huge section of the poker audience that has no idea about either.

Really excited for this. Love your content but sometimes you (like most people) say some very ignorant and/or offensive things.

I think that if you played the main event next year and used that as an excuse to get interviews you could reach a lot of people who you wouldn't otherwise, especially if you get some sort of wild pro bet/s going. Would also be fun to follow for your already enfranchised viewership.

I hope there is some give & take in today's podcast. Some viewpoints are extremely unpopular / suicidal to argue against.

Will be biting my tongue in chat. Mostly because I can't change my name on YouTube (if someone knows please tell me! Been trying so hard)

Great episode. Cate is a good ambassador and the conversation was thought provoking / cordial. She is very eloquent and can assess multiple parts of the "women in poker" argument instead of just the side that favors her own.

Still, could have been some shots fired on either side! You guys played it safe.

Nice job papi!!

Not so sure on this, generally speaking yeah but fwiw I think she is prob skewed more towards repping attractive women in poker scenarios well, maybe not soo much the grannies and others who may get treated differently by the usual bigots.

Anyway, enjoyed cast, deffo needed multiple shots firing in either direction to be up there with one of the best. Was good to see Ingram trying to be a politically correct papi - a bgg discussion would have been interesting.

Also her sheer look horror of when discussing a potential dance off was pretty damn lol!!

Bro, gotta go branch the f out bro to get that Ingram brand on pump. imo.

There's a lot of transferable genres to poker, that your well versed for now and build on your momentum to start stacking serious paper just from talking to ppl. eSports commentating, pro gamer interview podcasts, other well known bloggers/podcasters that you could interview. So many opportunities.

Also, time to get a ****ing tux on too and mic the f out in front of a real TV set with likes of Mike Sexton/Jesse May/Kara Scott.

PS. I need to see whitelime or aejones on a podcast. Sorry, my advice always comes at a price as its gold.

I think I am getting a bit old at this point and would like to say something other than I play online poker when people ask me what I do. I don't think I can play poker without putting 75-100% of all my focus on it so I'm going to try to not play at all.
..
Now I am planning to put 85-95% of my focus to the podcasts and my content in general.
..
After having many conversations with people in Vegas during the WSOP and seeing how much people enjoyed and loved the content I was creating, I realized that I should start making this my #1 focus. The feeling I get from it is something I've never gotten from being an online poker player.

This was a unique podcast from a personality/chemistry standpoint. Not to sound like a total kiss-a$$, but Joey did a great job managing it and making it entertaining (eventually). That's why I think there was more strat talk as well. It is a "give and take" with the guest and you can't always force your own personality/conversation style on someone. As soon as Tyler admitted he was not a "PLP" you could feel the chemistry fade for a bit. But Joey brought it back eventually, particularly with the "GTO nationality" and "most dangerous thing you've done" discussions.

Tactfully disregarded it sometimes you gotta know when you probably aren't getting an impression out of a person.

Pretty solid understanding of things by you I actually applied some Lefortisms I've been taught during this podcast that worked well

Just in my opinion, i think this is how you should lead the podcast when talking with the somewhat "introverted nerds"(no hate, i am one of them). You did this great in the Ben86 podcast too.
I honestly have no idea how I lead any podcast. I wish I had some sort of calculated reason for why I talk with different types of people like I do but I don't YET.

I am assuming you are referencing BGG/AGG/TGG etc...

I don't really want an excuse to get interviews with people. I want to have on people I actually care to talk with or want to know more about. I hate having people on just for the sake of having them on in an interview type setting. I enjoy these being more of a conversation and less of an interview.

Enfranchised viewership eh!

I believe these ones I found at one of those places in the street that sells random things. I believe PLP mentioned his friend sells similar items which is where I got the inspiration from.

lolol PCP politically correct papi

Gotta reread this post when I am feeling down. **** is pumping me up. Def agree with you papi and things I've spent many many hours thinking about. It is sometimes easier when your options are well defined, I feel like in this case my options are super wide open with the direction I can go and that is actually holding me back in many instances. We need to chat about this more imo
