Best way to enjoy stream, and it's separate from your grind station.

I enjoy the podcasts Joey, but thats mainly down to the guests.. I want to give you some tips;

1. Make sure the cams and mics are working correctly BEFORE you start the interview.. Surely you have a little chat with each guest before you start..that is the time to sort cams and mics

2. Dont eat. Its so unprofessional, and NEVER talk while you have food in your mouth.. Didnt your parents teach you that as a kid?

3. Stay focused. I've seen it too many times, your eyes wonder around the room as your guest is talking..Sometimes you even forget what subject you're talking about. It seems like you just see this as 2 guys hanging out.. But your viewers and guests dont.

4. Treat your guests like actual guests. Dont make them feel uncomfortable. Dont make them have a rap battle. Dont ask them if they are gay. Dont ask them what drugs they take..

4. Stop reiterating how you're into girls. Just stop

I've done one or two cold calls on Twitter to random people I haven't previously known but I feel so telemarketerish when I've done that and really would just prefer not to do that. Some people have suggested a person on Twitter from time to time and that has turned into something really great.

I think he gave some good opinions on a bunch of different questions. He might have nitted it up in a couple spots but in very understandable spots This is what these podcasts are about, we get to know more about different people. BDDK answering the questions in the way he did lets us know about the type of person he is and the way that he thinks. These might not always be the most outgoing, in your face, entertaining answers but I don't think that is a bad thing at all. I personally enjoyed the conversation with him, he is a really nice guy with a lot of respect for people who is pretty poker focused and we've seen how far that approach has taken him.

I do know what you mean Dabes In the GTO world of podcasting to some people, every guest would be firing shots at different people, ranking top 5 for everything, getting deep into what makes them great at what they are good at and why they are **** at different things. Sometimes you might get people close to that and other times you won't. Balance etc etc etc

Ansky will be back on sometime very soon. Of course I would love to have TC on anytime. I'm still figuring out how to approach repeat guests GTO. Most of the people I've had on I really really enjoy talking with and getting to know more and would probably have them on anytime they wanted to come on. I sometimes get a bit tilted after I have on a really awesome guest because I wished we lived in the same country/place. Pre-black friday you would have so many poker players living in the same spot and these days, everyone is so scattered and never really in one place that long, which for me makes it pretty challenging to maintain/build on poker friendships and I imagine this is pretty similar for many other people.

I do appreciate the feedback good or bad. I can tell that you have only really watched the last 2 episodes I have done which I tried dual streaming on both twitch and youtube at the same time, the only way to know if the sound is good on both is for someone to let me know after. Trial and Error on that one I don't think I've ever had any mic/sound issues before outside of some delay/lag that happens from time to time with people.

#3 is only something you might know from the last 2 episodes one again on twitch. I typically get comments/questions from people in the chat and on twitter that I will be paying attention to as well from time to time. I've always done this as doing it live and interacting with people is a big part of things. I think I've had a snack during a long episode or after the gym once or twice, I get hungry.

As for the other things, I guess you might have watched more than the last 2 Rap battles not going away, girls not going away, asking people if they are gay I don't think was the question and drugs are drugs. I do these because I have fun doing them and people enjoy watching them, if you want to go watch the same podcast with the same things talked about, you have many options. I do understand where you might be coming from with saying a couple of these, but I really enjoy the rap battles and I think most guests do after they do them and realize it isn't the scariest thing ever in the world to do and they are fun. Drugs might have been discussed with only a couple people who I have had a better relationship with outside of podcast world. I don't think I make people feel uncomfortable at all, I might ask some questions that might bring that type of feeling on from time to time but I don't think I'm putting the type of people I have on in any uncomfortable situation by a question I would ask them. Most of the people I have on are smart, successful poker players who are well adept at dealing with really anything I could ever ask them.

I really don't know much about the Devilfish. I'm not sure I would be the best person to put something like that together. I wouldn't mind doing something like this because I think he was a legend of the game but I really wouldn't know where to start with it.

Another legend of the game I think I've said before a few times ITT that I think the way I would get guys like this on the podcast is if I met them in real life and talked about the podcast with them. Or if someone set us up on a blind podcast date.

Devilfishs book "the life and times of a poker legend" and the two des Wilson books swimming with he Devilfish (not sure name of other) might a good starting point if ur serious interested in doing summat. Either way devilfishes book is a good read, funny stories about playing in seedy back rooms of takeaways before the poker boom etc, jus a good book in general about poker history and what it was like in the uk scene, grinding games 60 miles apart in the same night - kids these days complaining about the "grind" don't know they're born!

Hi joey regarding the devilfish, u could start by reading his autobiography. Its a awesome read tbh, some great laughs & really brings out his character, also Niel channing/victoria coren i guess would help set U up with some contacts.

Joey doing a tribute to Devilfish makes about as much sense as Doyle Brunson writing the biography of Jungleman.

Nah man, I disagree overall.

I suppose #1 is fair enough but the show is what it is and that kind of stuff is part of it.

#2 Sorry man, this is ridic. Got to feel comfortable. Eating is generally cool with all humans. It is not a politics Q&A with some noob. A dude got to munch when he wants. This is a poker podcast, not an interview for a 9 to 5.

#3 Some truth in this and it could probably be improved upon, but it is true that the wandering eyes are probably often to see the questions in the chat box. But again, it all adds to the relaxed style and that style is Joeys nut hand.

#4 I don't think he is mean, he knows when to back off. We need more drugs, sex, gay talk, hookers, massages, porn talk. In fact, maybe Joey or a guest could get high and have live sex on air? YEAH

#4 (dude you said 4 twice) Chicks chicks chicks. We want more of this talk.

hmm why is that then?
Is it the fact that devilfish main game was not cash? which it was.

Is it because he didn't play PLO? cause he loved the game.

Or is it because he's from UK ?

I will give u my take on it
Dave created the poker boom in UK-fact, he loved to play for days grinding at home or in europe & at the WSOP etc, loved cash games especially PLO.
Had some great stories on & of the tables, was a insight to the old days of poker in europe.
He showed that u can change from a bad lad to a generous individual who helped many a friend or foe.
Was a great family man & that's what counts in life.
And of course on his day he could beat the best players in live poker.
But the main 1 is that he was very approachable to any1 into the pokers, made many a stranger feel welcome on & of the table, had other talents(playing musical instruments) not singing lol. A TRUE LEGEND
And i think u meant jungleman writing a biography of Doyle brunson?

I don't think anyone disputes that Devilfish is a poker legend. The point is that Joey hasn't had any of the old school pure live players on the show. The exception is Sklansky, but I'm sure you can see the reason that he was on. There's just no connection so it would be forced.
