joey has spent over a decade not asking secondary questions nor asking people to clarify/elaborate

all his pods are 100% driven by the guest who dictates everything, to expect him to change that at this point is silly

it's frustrating but we also don't know how the sausage is made, perhaps joey rose up where others didn't because guests felt comfortable there knowing they would never get pressed

when i did media blitzs the pr firm would always let me know ahead of time which interviews were going to be cupcakes we could control and which weren't and i've always wondered if joey was born a cupcake or became one by design - to his credit a lot of people tried what he's done and failed spectacularly so perhaps cupcake is gto

love his pods but they'll always be background ambiance since they are so long and meander and there's not one that goes by that makes me wonder why he didn't push or focus in certain directions

Joey has not tweeted since July and a lot of chatter at WSOP that people are concerned about him

I played with Landon Tice in Texas a few weeks ago on a stream game and someone asked him about Joey and Landon said that he had spoken with him recently but he was just taking some time to himself out of the spotlight. I took it as meaning Joey is having some mental health struggles and I hope he is able to conquer whatever he is fighting.

I have not seen or heard about him in a long time, I though he would surely show up for the WSOP, but he is still MIA.

You know you've made a great product and touched a lot of people when there are still fans talking about where you went months later on the 442nd page. I miss the pod, and even though I've never met him I miss joey. Even if a decade passes I'll still be checking in on him/Poker Life

Watching Doug’s latest pod with Taylor Caby.

At 48:40 he says Joey has been way off the grid, hasn’t been responded to a messages for months and Doug is feeling worried about him, although he does say “maybe I should give him a call and stop texting and messaging” so he’s obviously not that worried. Still, it’s concerning, especially with Doug randomly putting that out there.

From the outside looking in it always seemed like joey had a brutal career, losing the half million roll must have been traumatic, meanwhile watching his peers like Doug continue to rise up while trying to rebuild in the American ecosystem.

I'd love to see something like him and nick Schulman getting settled into co-announcing a regular stream or even turning the pod into a crypto/trading channel. Whatever happens I hope he doesnt disappear for good, I would give joey the shirt off my back and I think most of the people in this thread would too

yeah always wished joey would just do a pod on himself like olivier busquet did before he had guests on his (amazing pod check it out) because the few times he spoke about his life it was often more interesting than the topic his guest was droning on about

from what i understand he was in australia with a stripper he met, battling a rec player heads up and caught a brutal wave of variance over the course of a few days, with extra curriculars involved. idk how you survive something like that mentally, yet alone keep playing, but it's a testament to who he is imo

Villain is repping a flush I guess and barrels (punts) into hero, hero is taking a shot at his game, but he aint scared. In the end he gets ****ed, I guess we kind of need you here, if you are not too busy, a great injustice happened, gotham city is under attack! We need Batman, or Joe Ingram.

You can even pretend you are blind and only listen to the sound, I watched it numerous times now. When he gets the countdown he makes the call in time. Also if you do the math, its well within the time, he is getting stonewalled by the casino now. It takes him 1min 7secs to make the call, shotclock is off and so is the dealer. Joey gets bored of any one thing after too long and needs to rotate them in and out before they get too old. He'll be back to the YT streets once again whenever he feels the itch.
