Sometimes when you are watching Joey, Joey is watching you. I would know it happened to me. It was like 'Inception' Joey said. But I think it was more like 'Being John Malkovich' because for a second or two I'm pretty sure I was Joey Ingram! Don't do drugs kids.

Great PLO podcast. The Phil Galfond T654 hand was very interesting and demonstrated that there are quite a few ways of looking at what were the correct plays by him and Ben Lamb.

I hate Galfond playing T654 pre in the first place because it's a classic win a small pot, lose a big pot hand in PLO. It is an easy fold pre even if getting a good price, because it is check folding on so many flops.

I slightly disagree about Ben Lamb's river sizing. I think it was pretty clever because it can and did get Galfond off a weak 4 and would get him off KKxx, AAxx and AQxx, whereas a 1/2 or 60% pot size bet is going to encourage some hero calls with those hands and very likely calls with a weak 4. Clearly KKxx and AAxx are not much of Galfond's range anyway as he would often 3 bet those pre. However a flat pre with weak versions such as AA73 no nut suits or KK82 one or no suits are fine pre.

I get the GTO principle that for balancing reasons a near pot size bet by definition has to include a certain amount of bluffs but I feel that the GTO approach is more valid if this were a 6 max on line game where a higher volume of hands are being played and more of a game dynamic has been established between players.

In this PAD game there are obviously a low volume of hands played, and as you pointed out people were playing fairly nitty, therefore Ben Lamb in a vacuum must have solidly put Phil Galfond on a weak 4 or an over pair or AQxx so picked a sizing that gave Phil not so attractive odds to call and repped some kind of house or K4xx/A4xx.

Should Ben Lamb have called the c/r on the flop? Probably not IMO, which basically shows that T654 when it does win a pot usually wins a relatively small one.

Loved the Sontheimer POD. Needles everywhere! Also liked how papi admitted it took him like 7 years to realize single hands don't matter and poker is a long term game. But we all know you're not a bot and love this game with a hot fiery passion... every hand matters, shoutout to Jungle and Hellmuth btw .D

Hey Joey or anyone else who might know what I'm talking about,

I've watched a lot of your stuff and really appreciate your content. From time to time, you talk(rant?) about PLO being like a drug, and one time you really went over the top for like 2 or 3 minutes(i grind, 3b 4b the swings its crazy i go to bed wake up stick the needle back in my arm, play some more, etc etc). If you or anyone else remembers that or knows where I can find that clip, I would appreciate it. Thanks for all the great content you provide and looking forward to the new stuff.
