Was watching Daniels steam and noticed something that brings up this question.
When you start streaming with the software for twitch streams, do you send the stream to them live and they cache it for the requested delay that you set?
Or do you delay the stream before you send it or twitch servers can see it?
Just asking as a nerd and former short time CERT volunteer.

If you've ever watched a twitch stream the streamers always know about problems in real-time. So obviously the data is being cached on Twitch's side.

Twitch is owned by Amazon, so they should know something about robust secure software.

I'm sure Amazon has thought about this problem.

Obviously everyone streams voluntarily. Some stream with a delay so short that their cards are visible, so ... whatever ... that's life.

I'm sure PokerStars would investigate anyone who appears to have access to hole cards if a PokerStars Team Pro like Jason/Daniel though they saw something out of the ordinary.

Amazon bought an already built Twitch, that has tons of problems with video lags and audio issues to this day. I doubt they upgraded squat.

PokerStars has nothing to do with Twitch and can't investigate diddly.

I did not know this ...

... and have watched a few streams.

Saved on client side unless you want it saved on twitches side which you can also do.

Thanks!
How does that work? Let's say i worked at Twitch. I would see the stream "live" as your playing the hand and then it would be broadcast 5 -10 minutes later?
Or only you would see and then you would broadcast 5 - 10 minutes later.
Are you playing with the twitch broadcasting software on and recording live? For you to upload after you save it on your side.

It is buffered on your own personal computer and sent after a certain amount of time to twitches servers. I don't record at the same time as twitch archives all broadcasts which you can cut and upload to youtube as necessary

If your at twitch con maybe you could bring up the subject asking them how its done and how its secured. I mean you will have the new hair cut and will be looking spiffy!

Pretty sure most of us use the OBS-side delay, which doesn't send information to Twitch until after X amount of time has passed.

Ya AJ is right which means it doesn't matter if the stream is secured or not on Twitches side because that's only an extra 20 seconds.

Thanks. So OBS is connected to twitch servers, you record and you delay on your machines, then at a specified delayed time its sent to the twitch servers for display?

I did not know that thankyou.
I am not a streamer.
If you think this is high level stuff, is this the only place to get info, forums for OBS/Xsplit.
Or if your not a high level guy and i am not one, would there be other places to get the info if your not a streamer?
