Why do all poker streams suck so bad?

I have a theory that everyone streaming rn is trying to make the commentators stars of poker instead of focusing on the actual entertaining part of the game, crazy poker players. It is true enough that a lot of streams are lame cuz the action is dull, but I just don't get why everyone talks over the player banter and clouds up their presentation with useless stat charts and chyrons about food specials

So what about it? Are there any obscure poker streams out there that are entertaining and/or focus on the players and their banter rather than each cardroom trying to make themselves feel like TV stars?

my stream focuses exclusively on me...and drinking whiskey, and I am incredibly entertaining. Or so I like to tell myself.

Hey thanks. I guess that sort of inadvertently answered my question. Poker streamers act pretty much the same as killingbird here. They focus exclusively on themselves. I think the players chatter is the most entertaining thing about poker, but streams are all about self-aggrandizing announcers and a constant barrage of upcoming promotions. Since I know now, and I'm not going to start a stream any time soon I guess /thread

Are the Bike and TRH streams really what most people want to see in a poker stream?

Here's an example of the pbkc stream. They've been doing some cash games and some weekly tournaments, but this one is the 50k guarantee final table. 4 regulars chop at the end, but I think it's great.

There's a cold open for the first minute of this stream where Maurice Hawkins is talking trash about Kevin Hart. The players thought it was funny lol.

Agreed. My local room started a stream last year and they basically run a nearly raw game. They have commentary but they don't cut the action or over produce it. Plus their commenters are a bunch of dealers and poker nerds who end up talking about football and wrestling more than trying to prove they are poker or broadcast experts.

Looks like twitch made people decide between multi-streaming on other services or using twitch exclusively. If they catch you streaming live to multiple locations twitch will terminate your account regardless of rank/achievements. My local room in wpb is streaming a very low key events like 1-2NLH cash and weekly regular ($100-$200) tournaments. It's pretty cool to listen to while I'm bored af at the table. There were 80-90 people watching last sunday when they were running their monthly multi-flight. IDK I listen to podcasts and it seems a lot like that. The other streams I've tried are just too loud. Not every hand is the most incredible play you've ever seen on a poker table. Ma'am I don't know what else you want me to say to them. And I'm also gonna need to know where your commode's at.

PBKC Streamed the Moneymaker Tour $1K Done in a Day last night and something magical happened. Maurice Hawkins and Ian Harris made the final table and sat side by side. LInking the video just in case anybody would be interested in watching. One person in the chat said, "wow do you need to be a scammy scumbag to make final tables these days" and that was great.
