if you are jonathan little (i think u r but sorry if I am completely off), then watching your stream is like watching an annoying commercial. could not stand watching more then five minutes.

"please buy this package for 20.99 on how to play top pair and this one for 99.99 on how to beat all the regs."

I guess this is the direction for many tournament players streaming on twitch, a notable exception pokerstaples who just happens to be one of the more successful streamers out there using a completely different business model and stays away from aggressive sales tactics.

You will find that almost all streamers who produce high level content run ads of some sort. They do this either by promoting a poker site, running twitch ads, or promoting their own products. Seeing how I have been producing poker training content for the last eight years, I have a large library to choose from when people ask for my help. For example, if someone is struggling with small stakes tournaments, I will send them to a product that I have produces that helps people will small stakes tournaments.

Perhaps if I was not giving away over $5,000 in prizes in my FREE poker league, I could advertise a bit less, but I think the vast majority of my viewers like having the chance to win entry into a major live event plus a trip for free.

Still stand my statement that your whole stream feels like I am watching a paid late night infomercial. I don't want to personally call you out (maybe I already have to much) so I will leave it at that. In the end the market will speak for itself.

Props to all you streamers who are not advertising so aggressively and allow for a chill stream where its like you are just hanging out. Those are the people that truly deserve the donations and the support.

The name of almost all the video series seems quite laughable and I would feel like a sucker for buying any of ur stuff versus getting a subscription to say runitonce.

Believe it or not, but it takes a decent amount of time, money, and energy to produce and deliver digital poker training products. I also costs right around $1,500 to give someone a $1,000 WSOP or EPT tournament buy-in and $500 in cash. While most streamers are giving away $5 at a time, I am giving out much more than that, both in cash and content. The price for that is that viewers have to listen to me talk about a training product for two minutes per hour. At least 1,700 of my followers on twitch are willing to pay that price. If that price is too high for you, feel free to ignore my stream and follow people who promote products to you in other ways.

+1 this is why staples and fenix's streams are the nuts.

damn you caught me before the edit fieryjustice. I came off a bit harsh with what I wrote there.

Congrats on the 1.7k viewers, but Jamiestaples and his ~17k followers seem to prove my point. Honestly good luck man with twitch, wish I could delete that post you responded to as you don't deserve that attack -- apologies. Run twitch as however you see fit. In the end the market will do all the talking.

For those not already tuned in, BigDog is hammered and is deep in tournies, it's good stuff. Taking shots and shotgunning beers for subs/donations.

Started a PLO stream, it's gaining some traction. Would love to get more feedback and comments. I have someone working on graphics for the overlay and offline screen/panels etc to spruce it up a bit. Plan on streaming 30+ hrs a week so come check it out and learn some omaha

You seem happy to ignore the fact that Jaime (and I'm not knocking him here) more or less stated on stream, or actually stated outright on stream, that ACR were paying him (albeit in tournament fees) to advertise their product. So we were treated to their tournaments on screen as advertising solely due to them throwing money at the streamer. There's other promotional stuff too.

AJ Fenix clearly has something in place to promote BCP.

Even KomodoDragonJesus, and I love his stream and subscribe to it, advertises the PT4 HUD add-on.

Xflixx, JCarver etc. constantly push their shop items. It's just part of the territory. I have or will subscribe to all of the above at some point, if allowed, so really my intention isn't to criticise anyone for monetising their product when the demand exists. They'd be crazy to do anything different.

I think the small advertisements is just a small part of streaming in general, which hopefully doesn't overshadow that we're appreciative of having a great platform for free poker education to new and current poker audiences and a general fun hangout for people who love to play poker.

I haven't been playing since black friday, and I live in Chicago, yet I'd be willing to do more comedic/entertaining type streams of freerolls on americas cardroom if anyone is interested. http://www.twitch.tv/bryanoshea

Some of these guys are giving away a **** ton of valuable info. If they get a little kickback from somewhere for that, so be it. As long as they aren't tacky about it to the point of it being annoying, more power to them. I would pay money to AJ for his streams if I wasn't extremely lazy about getting bitcoins, I'm working on it though. Really wish there was door to door bitcoin salesmen, kinda like girlscout cookies.
