I think Kevin and Jaime have found a niche and are really trying to exploit it to the fullest extent. They aren't necessarily committed to the game of poker as they are to Twitch. Example being they are only going to WSOP for Colossus and the Main. IMO, a mistake because they are probably both +EV vs the field in low/mid live events in Vegas this summer.
To be fair, Tonka has had way more success on Twitch and lifetime plus more average views recently. Probably way more deserving of being a member of PS Team Online.

Tonka would also be much more expensive, I assume he wouldn't sign a deal with them so he can keep playing on other sites unless it was for a large amount of money.

Re: Kevin Martin appointed Pokerstars team pro online
Think Kevin's sponsorship got announced the day before the Big Brother Canada finale. Not sure if he got any air time during the finale, but that show must be watched by a couple hundred thousand people at least - maybe PS was taking the chance that they might be able to get a free mention?

I don't think Kevin is +ev in many of the WSOP events when you factor in that Canadians instantly lose 30% of any significant cashes. Tonka isn't playing these events either, and he is defiantly +ev.
Also, they could have asked Tonka and got turned down, as he'd have to quit playing on any and all sites that were not stars.

I don't think Kevin is +EV in any vegas WSOP even before the 30%. But they get most of that 30% back anyway if I understand correctly.
His appeal as a pokerstars pro is literally 90% twitch stream exposure, 5% poker skill, 5% chance he studies really hard and becomes top-ish tier MTT player

He's not a good player and when someone mentions that fact after he punts his stack the mods instantly ban any criticism of a hand.
He's definitely good for twitch poker, I presume he keeps loosing players depositing. Congrats to him tho he's set up nicely from poker even tho he probably couldn't beat nl25

Kevin Martin has improved over the last 6 months, but still has a way to go. I think he just needs to give more attention to his girl friend or he might lose her =X

I'm going to feel bad for Kevin whenever they break up and the stream asks about her 42 times a day.

Just won the $109 Monday 6-Max for $7.5k in front of 6k viewers.
Seems to have been quietly improving his game for a while. Congratulations Kevin!

he's also streaming in Vancouver now alone, watch him be even way more successful now that he's on his own without the Staplers

Re: Kevin Martin appointed Pokerstars team pro online
Yeah I wonder what happened there.
Originally he was going to move alone to start an live blog like Andrew Neeme ( that disappeared when casinos came down hard about recording at the table)
Then he was going to move with the Staplers to Vienna, guess that's not happening either.
Kev starting the year strong with main event cash in the Bahamas and binking the Monday 6-Max. Gwaaaarn kiddo

Re: Kevin Martin appointed Pokerstars team pro online
He mentioned a while ago been working on his game and enjoying it more and more. Guess it's starting to pay off. The ex roommates should've probably do the same instead of other random stuff.
