This is good for poker but still not super substantial. Poker is at a point of being saturated with skilled players that another 'boom' will probably never happen. That money gets eaten up so quickly by so many people. Still, Pokerstars regs might get a few more $$ so it certainly does no harm

Thanks.

Now THIS guy is a poker pro that even an older player like myself can relate.

Watched his stream yesterday for first time on Twitch (by way of Roku) and was engrossed by it. The guy has a personality, is incredibly energetic, and is open to sharing his insights into each hand, so much so that you cannot help but learn something (even when you disagree with how he played it).

The Final Table of last year's WSOP had some incredible talent, but was really a terrible watch for the casual fan because the player's lacked personality (that we could see) and a love of the game (that we could see).

Jason really is good for the game because he will bring new players into it that want to have the "fun" he is having. Well done.

Yeah. Him being energetic and entertaining both to viewers and himself while ONE-TABLING a FR MTT for 10 hours straight does take a pretty special kind of talent lol. Especially considering that his stream is on a long ass delay so he can't interact well with chat.

Maybe, but that is the fault of the corrupted US system. As it grows more and more desperate for money to fund its 18 TRILLION DOLLAR debt and growing, legalizing and taxing poker will become so obvious that it will overcome the crony capitalist contributions to politicians that are currently preventing it.

I think he was on even longer than that. He took a break at 11 hours. Pretty impressive.

Yesterday was pretty huge for poker on Twitch. Jaimestaples took down the hot $109 for $20k and Jcarver final tabled his tourney.

You mean 7 billion? And the number of people who are estimated to not have access to affordable internet is supposed to be somewhere between 2-4 billion.

The reference to the arena was meant to conjure up an image of what 22k individual people actually looks like, to override the mental tendency to think of big numbers in the abstract.

Like 22k individuals all had their attention peeled to JCarver playing poker last night, and I was one of 22k - this is what 22k individual people actually look like:

I think if you don't think of numbers like 22k as individual people, there's a tendency to think of big numbers as sort of like, 'whatever'? As in like, 'oh, the population of the world is 7 billion and not 6 billion? Whatever, that's close enough .. ', or like '22k people, whatever ... that's nothing compared to 6 billion ..'

Or was there some larger point you were trying to make with your comment, that was relevant to this thread?

Super fun to watch.

It's great to see how much non-poker players enjoy watching, as well.

I was one of the 22k, and I wasn't wearing blue like everyone in this picture...

Actually you make a good point... When the numbers are on the screen, 22k is just 1k more than 21k. But to think of it as a basketball arena full of people all of a sudden you can imagine the sheer size of his audience.

And it wasn't WSOP, it wasn't the Celtics and the Lakers... It was just Jason playing an MTT. Granted he was on his way to a nice little score, but still 22,000 watching him stream. And the number got bigger as the stream drug on into the night.

The fact that he 1 tables is great. Pokerstaples is good too but he is usually playing 6-8 games and only 4 are showing. Jcarver always explains his throught process when he plays. The only down side is that during all the down time he just reads tweets or other boring stuff.

Im getting better coaching and better hand analysis watching jason, then the sites you have to pay for the same content but way less of it. AWESOME JOB and RUN IT UP, today will be epic, esp with Jason giving away 10% of himself to the winners of his game yesterday, if he runs deep someone might win over 100K.

watching the sunday 9 million was fun until he got tough with 33....
i thought the ROBOT crow was an obv. Geoffrey from the frenetic Welsh doods show....
it was fun to see him talk himslef into calls and show his thought process...
always has a plan for the hand....
butt...
the "voices" which entertained at first took on a whole new octave yesterday when he was discussing the type of men he enjoys...
GG..
not in for edge-sorting of that sort

he was pretty funny when he said he "owned" the babes in high school and that he then needed more of a challenge.... meaning doods...

i shall have to ask my gay acquaintance if "promiscuity of gheys" is a thing or a clever meme or sarcasm....

I think he'll be awesome for poker - he has a great personality and knows his s*** about poker. Good thing he wins a lot too...im trying to twitch as well but you tend to lose viewers when you brick a lot...hmmm..

Does anyone know what kinds of games he plays when he streams? I have completely different hours to the US (living in aus).

Watched a few of his training vids and def one of my fav poker player personalities. Imagine if Daniel Negraneu started twitching...
