Do you even watch Twitch? The formula to being a top streamer in your category is to be great at the game and have a good positive/high energy personality. If you don't have both of those it is almost impossible to rise above the mid tier of your category.

The only reason Jaime had the success that he did was because him and Carver where the only ones streaming poker on a regular basis back then. Now we have much better players and personalities streaming poker on a regular basis and Jaime is the same ole and only streams a few times a month. Lets put it this way, if Jaime started streaming poker today he would never get over 50 viewers. His 15 minutes are over. He is is coasting on the fumes of his fanboys(I'm looking at you Reliable) and that will only keep up for so long, especially with his inconsistency and poor results.

That's bull****. There's plenty of successful twitch streamers that are **** at the games they play. I spend about 10 minutes in his stream, maybe a few times a month. The baseless comments and circlejerking is out of control in this thread. You guys are seriously worse than teenage girls.

Honestly, it looks like you are making the baseless comments and you are coming to his defense like a teenage girl would if someone criticized Justin Bieber.

lol you see that IPlayNLHE Doug Polk wouldn't want us in his community... And we're the teenage girls...

If toxic means we are judging people who aren't elite at poker... was charging mark up to his mindless viewers and spending way too much money on a sub par stream and youtube content that doesn't get any views... Where i gotta hear constantly about how he doesn't wanna be fat lol

I guess we're just *******s

That's certainly a great formula, but I disagree that it's impossible to succeed without it. The #1 Dota streamer rarely uses a webcam, hardly says a word, and blasts awful music. But he's one of the best in the world, which is why people watch. I've also seen some very bland streamers with huge audiences in games like Hearthstone and Overwatch, for similar reasons.

As for the inverse, unskilled players with high charisma, no examples come to mind off the top of my head. However, there are TONS of successful personalities like that on YouTube. I'm sure that approach can work for live streaming as well.

I'm not saying Jaime fits that category, I don't know how skilled he is at poker. He seems nice though, and it's kinda sad seeing some of the bullying he gets. I wish him the best.

I mean, I did say next to impossible. Some do it but like you said, you have to at least have one part of the formula, if not both when there is good competition in your category.

This aint about twitch streamers this is about poker streamers. And most of the top poker streamers are good at the games streaming. I asked you to say names you think are bad you denied. The two really succesfull streamers that were bad (like really bad) at poker are moldran and sticky. And have no idea is anyone still subbed to them because of that.

I just dont get it why is it so hard to some people understand that this is just your normal conversation between people in the internet. What is it about stapler that people get so mad when someone criticises him. He done well in the past yes. People were cheering him god for you etc. Now hes making mistakes after mistake and people criticises him about that. That is totally normal.

Quote:
So you just proved my point that there's only a marginal difference in dollars being made between the two. You guys just like to start drama by putting tonkaaaa on a pedestal and dragging staples down.
And wtf is this? If tonka makes 2-3 time more than stapler I think it's pretty big difference. And we are not dragging stapler down. He is doing it totally by himself.

After watching those awful youtube video blogs where the editing out of Jaime's pauses between talking was so unnatural. I will never watch another video of his again and I clicked the unfollow on Twitch. I know thats harsh but hes paying thousands a month in production costs and thats the quality he gets?!

Staples has taken his fan base for granted over the last year + and is now scrambling to keep the existing while hoping to grow ( back to playing bigger buy ins and more tables ). Instead of pretending this 60k downswing didn't happen and locking his sharkscope like the rest of house he should have embraced it and taken humor out it during those times . Would have helped grow his base / by looking more down to earth and real . Instead the "salt" lead to many shorter / sometimes no streams / awkward streams . In this business thick skin matters and no number of veneers or hair cuts can replicate that

O ya like what... affiliates.. ive talked to numerous streamers about money made of affiliates... It's not much

But i get it... you're a twitch guy so you feel the need to defend your boy and "profession" I'm sure tournypokeredge and jivaro were paying streamers thousands to promote their product

Seeing how no players promote products anymore.. Kinda proves my point

I figured there must be lots of other revenue streams for streaming to be worthwhile. Can't imagine the subs/donations add up to much when the stream maxes out at 28 viewers.

i remember rupert sayin he made approx. $3.50 a day in dono's/subs when he streamed on avg
