re: Jaime Staples

Saw Staples was back online so decided check out the stream. First thing I hear is Jaime talking about growing the stream (does he ever talk about anything else?). Then follows it up by saying he's going back to playing more tables because him playing fewer is what lead to the decrease in viewers. I really wish him the best and hope he succeeds but the kid just doesn't seem to get it.

If he put that energy in to actually learning how to beat the games the stream would grow nicely on the side. Why on the planet earth would someone watch multitabling b/e or losing grinder when you have actually good players to choose from?

It's called Twitch. Many of the top streamers aren't actually good at games.

I really liked him in the beginning. He was a poker player. I don't know what this is now, but it isn't for me.
Actually he earned everything he got. Did you know who he was before Twitch?

Judging by the jscoop / youtube / twitch etc jamie viewership / fanbase is shrinking by the day
Let Jamie and Pokerstars handle their business agreements.

Seriously guys...worry about yourselves ffs

Its called poker. Not a freaking videogame. Most of the top streamers are actually good at the games they play.

And again stapler is a public figure in the poker world so it's pretty strd to talk about finances. Just like people talk about singers, athletes, businessmans etc finances and deals.

Some of you like to say he's a guy who's made 60k in 3 years of mtt's

1. He got partnered with twitch
2. He got sponsored by Stars
3. Invited to a cash game with Phil, Phil, and Antonio
4. He just came back and has 1k+ and getting subs/donations

Wouldn't you say he's achieved some success?

Ps. Not everyone would agree w/ your first paragraph

This part might just a matter of personal taste, because BigDogPocket55 never had more viewers than Staples unless he was running deep in something.

I won't because ultimately I don't believe it's the end all be all when it comes to being a good Twitch streamer.

I think Jcarver is crushing everybody and the rest are only doing marginally better than the others. (RE: success on Twitch (money!)

re: Jaime Staples

Also spending 7k a month for his youtube videos is just not plus ev financially... 7k a month is a lot of money lol like 84 grand a year to get a few thousand views a day on your youtube account...

Youtube doesn't monetize well at all... He seems a bit lost in how to get his viewers back up.. But doesn't want to face facts...

A year ago there was no tonka or polk who have surpassed him... Kevin Martin has surpassed him as well in viewership...

More competition from better players is whats crushing his stream... It happens... And for the people who say not too talk about... I think we should talk about it... I personally think Staples is delusional in some regards and he probably reads this thread and i believe we are giving him harsh but constructive advice on how too succeed...

Im sure even the haters don't really want staples to fail... Everyone loves a good run on twitch

re: Jaime Staples

I've only watched Jaime play video games more than poker (2:1 all briefly), but I've seen the hate, and it seems like for every 1 legitimate gripe there's 10+ people who just want to jump on a bandwagon of hate and watch a train wreck because they have nothing better to do in life.

It also seems like these are the same kind of dumb shortsighted spazzes who are always hating on recs in chat for mistakes they make. Poker isn't growing enough on its own to compensate for such destructive behavior on either front.

Take all the free help you can get and stfu. How many of you on the Stapler Spazwagon have even actually spent a dime on his stream or paid that markup?

Tonka has more viewers but according to their sub counters it's Jamie 55 Tonka 18 (today's subs) Stop putting these dudes on pedestals. Do you really think one is doing more than marginally better than the other?

Why would anyone buy tournament shares at markup from someone who's lost $60,000 this year?

These numbers are hard to process. According to you guys...

1. Down 60k in poker
2. Living costs include 7k/mo. in youtube production costs
3. He's a failure on Twitch (guys like tonkaaaa are making $10,000s more)

you do realize staples hasn't streamed in 17 days right ??? those subs have all accumulated from those days. So 55 is not that much tbh. If tonkaaaa was off for 17 days / when he came back he'd over over 300 subs ...

He had his run gg. He's not even a gamer (like elky / lex etc) so im not sure he can stream anything else worthwhile like (cs / hs /lol/ dota etc ).. And keep in mind staples was hosted by kevin today ! so his #'s are inflated !!

You probably shouldn't speak on this subject reliablesource.. In this matter you're not reliable at all...

Tonkaaa is not making 10gs a month of twitch... Probably half that... As for your other comment like buddy said... Jaime hasn't streamed in 2 weeks so he will get more subs in his first couple days as he hasn't played in so long... So quite standard

Ive talked to buehlero before who is a decent streamer for nighttime viewers... He said he makes 200 bucks a month of twitch... They make money of subs which they get half of and donations thats it...

So tonkaaa is at 5k maximum... Thats on the high end... Probably more like 3 to 4

With staples viewers down... So would be his subs and donations... Id say he's in the range of 1500 to 2500 a month nowadays

So you just proved my point that there's only a marginal difference in dollars being made between the two. You guys just like to start drama by putting tonkaaaa on a pedestal and dragging staples down.

2 to 3k difference a month is quite substantial when it comes to monetizing on the internet man... Huge difference... That's effective to someones rent plus living expenses for an entire month... Huge difference

Not trying to bring staples down... He should figure out away to earn back that income he lost.... Spending 7k a month on youtube content is a waste of money

It sounds like we're mostly guessing and it could be less than 2k if Jamie streams full time again. (Donations, team online stars)

2.5k/mo twitch income, -60k poker losses, and still can afford 7k a month in production for youtube videos. Should we know who Jamie's parents are?

pokerstars sponsorship... said in his vlog that if he didn't have that he would never be able to afford all the things he spends on the stream
