100% this but he never will, in the end if he can lose 50-60lbs he might get laid sometime and maybe then he will stop being a such a crybaby in life

Getting laid doesn't stop you from being a crybaby. See the TheTrooper97 vlogs for evidence.

We've been over this before, but just to clarify - they do NOT make any money from poker. Their money comes from their twitch streams, youtube channel and sponsorship.

Or even watched biggest loser, with just cutting out fast food + pop, as well as cardio and light weight lifting 5 days a week someone 300+ lbs can drop ~60 lbs in a few months max without that much physical effort

The 140 will take a lot of discipline which we will see if jaime has, but with the right food and workout plan he can def do it.

I think the arguably harder part of the bet is for matt to gain ~40 lbs over the year unless he is willing to get super chubby eating fast food etc (which seems unlikely)
You should google The biggest loser controversy, it's well known and established that they use drugs, many hours in the sauna daily and threaten the contestants to do unhealthy **** [to the extent they pass out regularly] all so the scale reads a bit lower for a few months.

It's not "that" easy to drop 1 pound almost every other day. All his 'lil' brother has to do is put on say 25 pounds of fat, and maybe 15 of muscle probably a lot more realistic [still v. difficult] if he's not doing any exercise at the moment.

Re: Jaime Staples

Without getting too far into the biggest-loser discussion; I think it's important to realize that it really is a TV-show and a lot of the things done (in front of and behind the camera) is for that purpose.

Losing a lot of weight doesn't need to be a biggest-loserish war. It can be, and should be, a steady deliberate grind. Not crazy intense workouts until you feel light headed (or worse).

Literally, 3lbs of veggies a day, some egg white omelets and some chicken breasts mixed in. Some fruits for a snack here and there. An omega 3 supplement. A ricecake with some peanut butter twice a day for sanity and fat intake reasons. 2 hours of normal paced walking a day. - All very undramatic, easily implementable, non-gimmicky things which will result in ridiculous amounts of weight loss for the very obese.

Little bro staples need to step it the **** up from what I can tell though, have some cake bruhhh You ain't gon' lean bulk your way into the $75k. Just look at every fat piece of cake you have as a Perkins $100 deposit into your account

Disagree with that. Weight loss should be his priority but that doesnt mean he should put streaming or poker on hold full stop. That is his long term career he needs to somewhat maintain his viewer base and keep trying to improve at poker.

That suggestion is almost as silly as those saying that the bet is a bad idea because his stream will suffer.

Re: Jaime Staples

Wow, the comment section of Jaime's youtube vlogs is crazy poisonous. So much unneeded hate. I mean, I find Jaime's diet-related antics frustrating (not tracking daily energy intake, not monitoring weight progress properly, asking for cheat days. Money, who needs it..) but people are just ****ing nasty for no reason. I realize this is the internet (I spew a lot of hate myself in certain scenarios, especially arguments), but people really go out of their way to watch his vlogs and then write mean things. Very odd.

Keep having that diet soda btw, and start slapping Matt when he has it. People really are clueless in the comments saying Jaime should cut out the diet soda lmao da ****

Not tracking weight loss and energy intake properly when dieting is like playing poker without a HUD or tracking software. Basically it just means you're a ****ing fish.

Making change can be so hard - have mentioned before that used to drink diet Coke, and even that took me a year to fully give up ... and that was using substitutes like coffee and candy (am not even fond of candy) Was reading somewhere that the success rate for people trying to quit smoking is only something like 22%? Not sure about the rates for dieting, but maybe they're similarly low?

Guess the fact that the majority of people who attempt to make lasting changes tend to struggle shows just how hard it can be - and it raises and interesting question of what might be different those 1/5 times where people find a way to persevere. Haven't been able to find anything concrete about what might help people achieve the hoped-for outcome. Guess that's the $150k question ...

PS. Not sure about Matt's side of the bet - that schnitzel sandwich platter looked ginormous to me ... but guess if helped to motivate a family member, might be able to eat at least half of it?

Re: Jaime Staples

what makes me laugh is that people are rooting for Jaime to fail in weight loss and poker. I wonder what brings that on. Maybe people that hate aren't really happy with themselves so they project the negativety on someone else to make themselves feel better.

who knows?

2 different things man

I hope he loses weight but it's up to him he can't go blaming the fact he streams a lot or plays a lot of poker for eating 5k cals a day .

When it comes to poker he's a sponsored pro for a site that has been actively killing online poker for the past 2 years and he misinforms people who watch his stream , on top of that he's extremely arrogant .

In 1 of his recent youtube videos he did an awful bluff with 88 on an AK633 board and he said it was a good bluff because 88 unblocks his top floats w/e the **** that means lol . Halfway through his river shove his face looks like ''oh damn didn't see the board paired this is so **** bad but i cant admit that now can i ''

On one side we have basically every regulatory agency on the planet and the complete bulk of the scientific community saying it's safe. On the other side we have... istack_u5 and "MotherEarthLivingHealth4uPeaceLove.org" saying it's not. Next up: Flat earth and chemtrails.

That's the thing: It's not "horrible for you". Every major governing body for foods and chemicals on earth agrees. It's fizzy water with some aspartame. Aspartame is safe, fizzy water is safe, where's the issue? That a ton of unhealthy fat ****s drink diet soda doesn't make diet soda unhealthy.

Re: Jaime Staples

I am not expert in any way, I try to keep aware of the current science and there are some studies that seem to indicate that we should try to take care of our gut microbes (our own microbiome seems to be quite important for many things.)
I haven't read a great deal on this area and I don't want to be a kill joy but personally I would avoid drinking lots of diet fizzy drinks.
Here is a quote from a Nature paper
Quote:
Some studies showed benefits for Non-calorific Artificial Sweeteners consumption and little induction of a glycaemic response, whereas others demonstrated associations
between NAS consumption and weight gain, and increased type 2 diabetes risk
Here is an article from an article from Scientific America about how these gut microbes may even instruct the host what to eat, weird.

It is all very complicated and difficult to know - my own personal poison is several (too many) cups of milky tea per day, this like just about all things consumed has some problems attached.

For Jaime and Matt I wish them well but I would steer clear of using prop bets that could have strong effects on health, it's unhealthy betting. Even if you win you may then feel you need this type of pressure to stay on a healthy path.

I think we are all subtly different in what constitutes a healthy long term diet, this probably changes as we age, but we are human and that gives us a great advantage over many other creatures - we are omnivores and can get sustenance from many sources. Don't fall for the gluten/milk/whatever intolerance, the presence of these intolerances can only be discovered by careful analysis and complicated medical tests not some blog, thread post or rip-off postal test. If avoiding some staple (Matt or Jaime) makes you feel better then do it but make sure you have a wide enough range to be healthy.
