I don't understand these 70k costs.

You need a laptop, camera and a mic

Come on you need someone to cook for you, do your laundry, handle the fanmail, edit youtube videos, assistant to keep on track of the schedule etc etc. But yeah 7k / month to create content for 20k views sounds just not the best investment. What does it pay like 100$ / 10k views? Lol gues not even close.

Everyone is a critic of other peoples lives. Whether he is spending too much or not, the guy never asked for any of our advises as it relates to this. Maybe in relation to his income and standard of life, it's not a lot. Maybe it is. Who is to care really, it's what he loves to do, so do it. People love to hate on the guy for providing THEM entertainment. People don't watch because he isn't winning anymore. Well, VARIANCE. If you want to freeload expert content get a run it once membership or marry a poker pro. I personally don't watch him or Sommerville because they add no value to me personally, however how they run there stream or how much they spend on it has no effect on me whatsoever. If they are happy than cool. It's no wonder the dude has anxiety with some of you people up in his business. The guy is a sponsored team pro and most of your criticisms as watchers stem from the fact that you think you are better and more deserving than him. Don't hate. Reflect.

I have never said that I'm better than him I suck at mtts and would never ever in my life stream. And I don't hate him never said that neither. And I never asked for your opinion either. And afterall this is a forum in the internet so people can discuss about other people.

It's something that happens, and I do my best to deal with it, but 9 times out of 10 I am feeling good.

Jaime

yet 2+2 keeps the title of the thread the same. SMH

Did he give up streaming and quit? No WCOOP stream?. Seems odd as a sponsored player.

Dudes, have you guys seen the hate in this guy's Twitch chat/YouTube video comments? From his play to his appearance, Jaime is absolutely the Twitch streamer with the most hate from randoms. Why he attracts that hate, I'm not sure. On stream he makes a joke out of the jerks in chat, but my goodness, after awhile, that stuff has to start getting to you eventually. I'm sure losing viewers hasn't helped either.

Hang in there, Jaime! HUGE fan here. I watch the vlogs and everything. You're a total badass in my book, brother.

Maybe twitch streaming, or twitch streaming poker, was never meant to be a lasting thing. Or maybe it's not something that people can do for long before burning out.

It might be a form of 'fame', albeit on a much smaller scale than tv and movie stars experience. The public seems to tire quite quickly of various shows and stars, and then they can get cranky. Even if only 5% of viewers are like that, if a thousand are tuning in on any given day, that's 50 people who might be like that.

I think the very high level/entertaining poker streamers will have long term success but Jamie isn't entertaining enough and does not have enough knowledge to keep viewers watching long term because they are not learning anything. Being nice and likable is only going to entertain viewers for sol long until they lose interest and start to watch others.

i think halving his twitch viewers isn't a big of a decline, there are 3-4 huge new streamers since the peaking of his channel, and of top of that his volume went down a lot.

i think 1000-1500 is very respectable number with theese circumstances. even the godfather himself jcarver lost like 30%.

with tonkaaaap and wcg in the mix, its quite a different ballpark than its used to be.

Stapler peaked when there wasn't much to choose from. Now there is so much good content out there you really need to work on your overall twich game to be succesfull. And carvers numbers dropped only because he was streaming from jersey. Now it's back to typical 5k+ and peaking 10k. Atleast when I watched the stream.

carver had 15-20k peaks half a year ago basicly every day.

Wasnt that during the scoop?
Jaime Staples Quote

yeah, but we can relate this thursday he played HU in the thursday thrilla for 20k people, back then he final tabled a smaller scoop event and had like 30-35k viewers for a smaller hype than playing a 40000$ HU.

If I had to stream on a laptop I would throw myself off of a building.

ya 7k a month to create youtube videos is ridiculous... Youtube isn't going to grow the stream... running deep in tournys is... Tonkaaa just started his youtube chanel and already has more subscribers then jaime...

for sure tonka isn't spending 7k lol it all comes off his twitch stream... Jaime isn't that smart of a person if he believes this is a smart decision... you make dick all of 3k views on youtube talks about how he refuses to accept the fact that he's mediocre..

lol cmon bro.. you're a very medicore poker player and until he focuses all his energy on becoming an elite player... he will always remain a mediocre player and streamer..

Where is every one getting7k expenses on stream/YouTube content ?
Has Jamie said this before?
7k a month seems super high for creating content

7k a year seems more reasonable.

instead of spending 7k for videos/vlogs like this, stake tonka. it can be better for ROI.

He mentioned having 7k / moth expences making that content in some vlog. Probably the one where he talked about 'anxiety' etc.

All you need is a laptop cam and mic to stream. A good laptop obviously. I do it just fine.

He takes his stream seriously and is going through a rough patch, I don't see why this matters so much to everyone. You should appreciate his honesty. If he loses viewers, its just an opportunity to either get better at poker or better at entertaining to get them back.

You mean you don't see why this is a big deal, and you think people are making a mountain out of a molehill? Not sure what would lead you to think this actually matters a lot to everybody, based on a handful of posts from a handful of people, including yourself.

Audience engagement does seem to help build a Twitch audience, which Jaime seems to have picked up on early, ahead of a lot of other people. So if he's a bit down, why wouldn't some of his audience members try to help him out of his funk.

There's probably some streamers who focus too much on the poker, and not enough on trying to draw the audience in. Maybe there needs to be both solid poker content, and a certain delivery on camera for a stream to grow. Jaime's camera presence is excellent, so he's got reason to be proud of what he's been able to achieve with his stream in building his audience, when competition's so tough.

If staples did have anxiety , some of it would have to do with wcoop and the potential 40k punt if he decided to stream it.. I'm not up to date with jimmy's schedule but I don't think I've seen him in the twitch listing yet ( but we are only 5 days in)
