I think James give us a lesson about both, bankroll management and game selection. He moved down in stakes and made a couple of FTs on $11Rs... which is not that soft, but is not a Super Tuesday. Also when he got sucked out, he looks like "who cares... moving on", when he bust on those high bi mtts you could look the pain on his eyes.

About the charity, I think is a win/win. Who doesn't like 24hrs streaming, plus they guarantee to get some viewers back. And is for a good cause. I don't get the people who say "don't donate because...(whatever reason)". I mean, most often tan not, people that do that is because they don't want to look themselves as greedy b***ards, and try to convince themselves that they're doing the right thing. Unless you know for a fact it's a scam... like people say in here: "Si no ayudas, no estorbes".

It would be appreciated if Jamie or anyone shows the total number and a stream when they're depositing.

I'm just a bit skeptical about this whole thing...
Why would all 4 come together to ruin their twitch rep by making this a scam.
On top of it, if you don't trust jaime /kevin/matt , it's being lead by jeff gross who
1) has a lot of money
2) has a lot of respect among the high stakes community and 3) he used to be roomates with michael phelps, who runs the foundation they are donating the money to so why would he rip off his old friend/roomate?

This thread is almost the epitomy of broke idiots circle jerking over other peoples lives / goals / emotions of people they 'don't like or care about'

If being cynical is your cup of tea, question the legitimacy of the charity itself. Waaaay higher chance of that being shady than any of these streamers imo

I've considered donating, but can't find any info on charity navigator and there's no 990s on their site.

Small charity, but doesn't seem shady.

Baby Staples has FT'd the Hot $109. Pretty fun to watch how hyped he is; Kev & Jeff sweating it.

$3.2k up top, 3 left. Stake is split four ways between himself, the charity, Kev & Jeff.

As an affiliate marketer I think his costs are insane.... 7k a month for Youtube vids is ludicrous for such small numbers of followers.

The flaw in his thinking is that simply throwing money at this idea will help him grow faster. Thats simply not true.

Attention: Do not buy action from him, he is a losing player and a scammer. He also bans people in chat who talk truth about his downswing and weight problems. He is not good for poker!

Wow! Thanks for bringing up that he is a losing player 14 pages into this thread! Here I thought he was crushing $1ks and flipping over rainbows with the feedback from all the great people in this thread!

Also true, how dare him or his mods ban people who talk about his downswings or weight problems, I would never go tell strangers to **** themselves IRL when they start our interactions with pointing out my negative flaws and ****ting on my mood!

Great post Coach , glad to see 6 years after making your account you are still a fantastic person and great role model for poker players everywhere!

That makes sense, although it's extremely deceptive and dishonest. How long can they keep losing though? Lets say over the next year, they lose at the same rate and get no big scores. Where do they go from there?

Final day of the marathon. They'll have collectively raised $20k by the close of play - great effort.

Michael Phelps will be appearing on Jeff Gross's stream in a few hours.

Charity marathon for the grind house?

I don't think the charity stream marathon is a scam, more like a 'win-win' for everyone involved. MP Charity gets the money (which is all that matters, no?), and the streamers probably get a huge tax break at the year end for their charitable donations - which probably amounts to more $ then they would have gotten based on their average regular non-charity donations received during that time period (since poker streams rarely get donations). Further to that they gain some future earning potential from the marathon stream exposure (new viewers, more subs, building positive image for the stream, etc.). So I think it's a good cause at the end of the day. But the whole constant plugging of how it's "all for the kids" is somewhat exaggerated in my opinion as I think first and foremost, the reason for the charity stream was ultimately a business decision.

I don't know how Jaime can go to bed and sleep every night knowing he is lying and taking advantage of his loyal streamers by giving them the impression for staking purposes that he is +EV for the bigger games and thus the markup he charges is justified. I feel like he knows his channel can't grow anymore with all this newfound competition so the only question in Jaime's mind is how he can squeeze the last bit out of his fans before he rides off into the sunset and quits poker.
Jaime Staples Quote

I agree it's shady to charge an absurd amount of markup (I've seen his packages going for 1.3-1.4+ ) when he's clearly a losing player who ran good for a while.

For argument's sake lets say people invested 200k in this guy lifetime at -10% roi while paying 30% markup . His graph will show -20k while pocketing 60k himself.

He can sleep just fine at night as a result of high fat meals that are part of his weight loss efforts consisting of hamburgers , fries and beer.
