Most people from the Twitch poker streets wouldve seen or atleast heard of ChristaBorg. He made day 3 of the WSOP ME also.

After busting day 3 of the Main Chris gets home and creates a GofundMe page
for his baby girl who needs surgery for a very rare condition and is he is attempting to raise $10,000.

Obviously I have sympathy for Chris and his family my question is why on earth would he play the main event which as we all know is a $10k USD buy in.

Thoughts?

Honestly you could've asked this pretty legitimate question a LOT more rudely, so I thank you for not doing that.

As bikeking mentioned, I won the WSOP Main Event package that was given away by Parker "tonkaaaap" Talbot on his twitch stream, https://www.twitch.tv/tonkaaaap ... 888Poker gave him 1 $12,500 package to give away, to "send somebody to the main event!"

Around the end of May, I won the first homegame, securing a spot on the final table. It was a $12 buyin with 130ish players, I got like $420 for winning. Then on June 21st I won the Final Table, that consisted of 6 other homegame winners, and 1 spot randomly drawn (There were only 8 players on the FT as some fellow from Poland won a homegame right before 888 pulled out of Poland).

If I could've taken the $12,500 in cash, I would have. But the package rules were clear, the idea was to "send somebody to the main event!". So I sold a little bit of action (enough to freeroll the whole experience) and tried my best to mincash, losing a flip about 3 hours into day 3. Win that flip, grab a mincash, and it would've been a much happier story

I appreciate the wellwishes for myself and my family. I estimate the total cost of all post-surgery expenses to be in the 10k range, my "goal" isnt necessarily to raise 10k. If I end up raising 2k, thats still 2k less that has to go on our line of credit or 2k less I have to borrow from a bank somehow. Every little bit helps.

I've met Chris several times irl and I've known him in the online world for over 7 years. I know him to be a very dedicated father who always puts his family first. He is also a great human who always treats others with kindness and respect. He's been a part of many different poker communities, always regarded as one of the most trusted and reputable members.
When I hit a very low point in poker and life, Chris was the first one there offering to help me. And to be clear, we were casual skype buddies who played live MTTs like 3 times together. He owed me nothing but still wanted help because he's that kind of guy.

If you're able to help Chris and his family out, even just a little, please do. I know the money will be used wisely and the kindness and positivity will be reciprocated to the world by Chris.

It comes from my bankroll, which is public and can be followed along with on my stream or by using this link: https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?...HkqDC7Ei2CHAdw ... I was with BBZ for about a year and our staking relationship ended last September. Since then I've built up what I have from cashing in my starscoins on PS and my Gold Coins on 888, I started with about $150. I've paid a decent percentage of my bills this year (withdrawing about 1k-1.5k a month) using this money, and my wife and I have a deal where anytime it gets over 10k, I withdraw down to 10k and put the rest in a savings account.

I also have several friends who have staked me in some things, one friend in particular has an open invitation to buy up to 60% of my action, so when my BR starts getting lower (like it currently is ), I cut him in for 20-30% and he helps cover my buyins.

As for Lily, I'm ready and willing to withdraw my whole BR if I have to, and either start again with $100 or gain entrance to a stable like BBZ again, or even just play whatever my wealthier friend sees fit to stake me in.

I understand I'm not desperately poor, and I hope the GoFundMe doesnt come off like I am. If I absolutely had to, I could pay for the entire thing using my entire BR, maxing out my Visa, and putting the rest on my Line of Credit. I'm relying on the generosity of friends and strangers alike who DO have disposable income and DO want to donate so that I dont have to do that, though.

You're either extremely skeptical of everything I'm doing or you're just a troll, but either way, I want to make it clear that you're helping me just by posting and keeping this thread current, so thank you.

Chris

Man, Kevin and i have a ton of great ideas that if I was a bigger streamer we could implement. I'd love to do more double streams with him, and we think it'd be hilarious if we had some sort of parody competition, especially if I ever get signed with a non-pokerstars website, similar to what Esfandiari and Laak did with their show "I Bet You". He's just a ton of fun to hang out with!
