Herein we pray tribute to our RNG lord and savior, the most fun card in HS history, the God of Death himself - Yogg Saron.

Never before in HS history has there been such great potential for turn 10 joy and sorrow.

Today is Day 1 of WOG. Here is my experience my first three games - please share yours as well.

Game 1:
Hero priest v Villain priest
Board control is contested all game with both players eventually trading Cthun and SW : D. I play Yogg on turn 12 and he does some inconsequential **** and then plays the Nerubian ambush into villains deck. Villain had Chromaggus and Northshire Cleric on board. He topdecks another Cleric. Chromaggus duplicates it and he plays both. Villain runs Chromaggus into Yogg then heals Chro, proccing all 3 Clerics. First and second draws are AMBUSH, giving me 4 4/4's and timing his turn out. He rage concedes during my turn.

Game 2:
I play Yogg on a board that is lost to villain, who has complete board control with 5 or 6 minions. Yogg starfalls himself for 5 damage. Can't win everytime.

Game 3:
The day is lost. I play Yogg (topdecked lol) against my lock opponent's 7 minion board. Then the dream occurs. First spell is twisting nether to board wipe. 2nd spell is Lay on Hands for +8 health and three cards. 3rd spell is holy wrath, which draws a bs 3 mana card that kills villain's deathrattle spawn that remained post nether. Villain concedes.

It's going to be hard for me to not sneak this into every deck for the fun of it. Again, please contribute your most undeserving victories and saltiest butthurt here.

I opened 6 legendaries today, and three of them were Yogg Saron. I didn't think much of the card when it was revealed and wasn't planning on crafting it, but of course i had to try it out.

I made a reno/elise/yogg rogue deck.

The second time i used him, he cast Astral Communion and caused me to discard my hand of 9. I think i conceded before he finished his other spells out of disgust, a clear misplay on my part.

The next time i used him, he drew me so many cards i burned my golden monkey and went into fatigue. He did clear my opponent's board by shadowflaming himself though, and somehow i ended up with a 4/1 tentacle as the only minion. Hilariously, this was enough to win me the game.

I got yogg'd by hotform, cleared my board, buffed his minions and drew him 7 cards via sprint and lay on hands. Rekt.

Shuffles 3 copies of yogg into his deck, eventually draws a full hand of cards, kills his yogg then gets astral communion and obv throws away his hand including 2/3 of yoggs.

a few turns later drops his final yogg. does a bunch of stuff, kills his yogg, gets astral communion again and throws away his hand again lmao. at this point he has like 3 cards left in his deck and concedes.

I dropped yogg turn 10 against a warrior where I already had a massive lead and a big board. Almost lost me the game, but I had to try it out.

The hardest part about playing Yogg decks is definitely resisting the urge to drop him when you are way ahead on board

Dropped Yogg at 6 health and my opponents board was a 12/12 C'thun. Mortal strike my own face first spell. Had a couple opponents pull off very favorable yoggs I will def be trying him more.

He was played against me twice today, both times terrible. My opponent still won in spite of it, not because of it.

I played Yogg my first time with lethal on board, but I had to do it. He gave himself charge, lol, oh and then decided to brawl and lost. Bastard. I lost the game, no regret.

There's a YouTube on reddit of someone getting off the Brann Yogg combo on 27 spells for 54 total. Wtf lol

there are 200+ spells in the game, even a 5 spell yogg has millions of combinations and situations that can happen, like a truly ridiculous amount. it would be really cool to be able to create some kind of simulator and predict percentage wise how favorable a yogg play would be. I think best (best risk/reward ratio) scenarios are -

empty board, facing lethal,situation hopeless, plop him down.

or,

opponent almost dead, you're nearly out of cards, board empty.

I also theorize that depending on the situation, there is probably a spell sweet spot. Casting too many spells can be bad for you, too few and you may not get a board clear you need.

It also seems like even an average Yogg drop has a really high chance to push you into bad levels of fatigue if you are nearly out of cards.

There are some hilarious Yogg shenanigans in the latest Trolden video. Forsen played Yogg on a board where the opponent had Sylvanas. After a few spells the Sylvanas dies so Yogg gets stolen and the rest of the spells get cast for the opponent, lol. Basically the whole video is Yogg clips, haha.

I haven't played hearthstone since right around blizzcon, but when Yogg was spoiled I knew I'd come back for a bit just to dick around with it.

Yesterday I made a mage yogg deck. Opponent was cthun and hit me for 16 with it to bring me to 5. Opponent was at 20.

I cast yogg.

Yogg cast holy fire on him (15 - 10), some irrelevant spells, and two secrets.

Opponent attacked me for 16. The gain 8 armor secret triggered. I took 16 and went to two.

Then eye for an eye triggered and my opponent died.


Yogg is the unquestioned GOAT. idk how much i'll be playing moving forward, but it will always be with Yogg because being fun and silly is what i'm all about <3

I'm confused still about how if yogg switches the spells start getting cast for your opponent rather than you.

because the spells are not cast simultaneously
