So in most of the Reno decks Twisting Nether is present, but I never seem to have games where this card wins it for me or is useful, it only seems to be useful if u get an emperor off on it, what match up is it meant 4 because it is so slow?

Twisting Nether is not essential.

Although many might disagree with me, I play Renolock almost exclusively and I find twisting nether to be very useful. Obviously it's a bad card vs. very aggro match ups, particularly hunter and face shaman, but there aren't many of those decks in the meta right now. I've had a lot of success with it vs. just about anything else. I actually think it makes the biggest difference vs. decks like zoo, tempo mage, and secret paladin. These are decks that can play a lot of minions but won't typically win the game by turn 7/8, thus twisting nether can get a lot of value. And it's often allowed me to win games I was way behind in.

In general, it's just nice to have an extra board clear that can deal with big minions. It works fine in control match ups too. One card that comes to mind where twisting nether can be quite useful against is Ysera. Sometimes it's fine to use nether on a board with only Ysera on it (you're using an 8 mana card to kill a 9 mana threat, so it's not terrible) as Ysera is a tricky minion to remove (shadowflame and bgh are ineffective) and isn't a minion you can afford to let linger unless you can silence it.

I'm thinking about playing some handlock but am hesitant to craft Jaraxxus prior to the ladder changes. I'm also unsure of which match-ups Jaraxxus helps with because of my inexperience with handlock.

If I replace Jaraxxus with a big threat like Alex or Rag, are there any notable match-ups where I would have a lower chance to win than I would with Jaraxxus?

Priest matchup is about clearing the board then dropping jaraxxus safely.

Generally against a deck without burst, if you control the board and play jaraxxus, you win the game.

Anyone else running curse of rafaam in zoo or am I the only one? I really think this is an underrated card right now. It's not played much and people seem to just **** themselves when it shows up. Either they play it immediately after getting it which can often screw up their tempo, or they ignore it for a turn or two and I get fantastic value out of it.

Currently 12-1 from rank 10 to 6 with superJJ's Combo Reno list, only lost to Warrior. The deck is very strong.

At some games I swap Farseer for Owl if I don't see many aggro.

Anyone come up with a good C'thun reno list? I've been working on it but haven't been having much success.

FWIW, I usually go to like rank 15 and am not great at this game, but maybe something to start with.

Heres my control lock deck. I recently cut a doom but that might be an ok substitute for 2nd nether. Would definitely add it back if meta goes all 10 drop again. Shadow flame is not the best global when you are not running power overwhelming, as this list has many fat buts and 4 mana + creature for 2-3 damage is not comparable to trade into spreading. Sacking 'can you hear his calllll' sucks as obviously as well. Hopefully earth ring hits beaconer or void after they have 1/2 traded, but he is great healing to the face as well, many times I will have two or combo with portal on turn 6 for portal+2 earth ring. Voodoo doctor wasn't as good for a lot of reasons. I bet there is probably a better 1 drop than flame imp somewhere.

If I had starseeker I would definitely run her, so i suspect a reno version would work. I could not fit a dreadstead as that card does not provide enough board presense against aggro, even though it is quite clutch against mage comboaggro.

The real star is the usher ritual combo and you should definitely run ritual in cthun warlock. If you are playing 2nd, situationally it is often correct to play ritual on turns 1-3 for even 1 mana on turn 3. Once you see you are against zoo lock you should just use it a mana sync immediately as the 1 mana bodies like villager, ritual, imp void are the only way to survive this meta. If you can keep enough board control that trades + 2-3 damage will wipe the board then your midgame can dominate them.

You crush the mirror unless a lot of bad **** happens or they mana ramp faster and cthun you. You ritual into usher. You portal into cthun. You have much early drops strong midgame and just need to hope cthun isn't on the bottom of the deck if they stabilize. Pyroblast is a v bad matchup but for a cthun list this is probably as good as it will get. Use ritual as a tempo play and try to keep his weak ass creature off the board. Always heal to the face and dont hero power. Arch mage is a gg every time unless you are way ahead on the board.

Feedback very welcome.

I forgot about disciples, I will try that out in 2 of the spreading/hellfire slots and see how that goes against the aggro.

Drop summoning portal it's pretty expensive got what it does and put in emperor (forgot his name) that comes with league of explorers. He is a 5/5 and reduces cards in hand cost by 1 each turn in play much better value.

I ran a reno lock deck for a while but it's so dependent of getting reno drawn I gave up. Currently running a off meta dragon deck which I have gotten to rank 11 sp far. Will post it later if anyone is interested
