Control warrior is my all time favourite deck and I'm glad it still works fine in standard after losing some key cards. This is the build I'm playing these days and it works pretty well. Most aggro decks have very hard time killing me in time (unless godlike draw obv), C'thun decks just get destroyed and against other control decks it's still fairly playable. It's quite bad against midrange decks like Call of the Wild hunter but there aren't many of those around so it's a fine deck for climbing the ladder right now (still pretty lol rank - 14 on EU - but it's been a pretty fast climb from the depths given my low volume).

It would be hard to gain value from armorsmith since I rarely have any minion in play and taskmasters aren't needed imo - two ghouls, two slams means I almost always have a way to finish off damage/execute activator. But anyway, what would you suggest to replace for these cards?

personal preference, my cw list im not using doomsayer, i think using 2x both sb and bash is too much, i dont have elise, or gorehowl

lots of cards you can sub

Wow just lost t5 to a pirate warrior with a pretty perfect start of finley->nzoth+upgrade->bloodsail cultist--->bloodsail cultist + upgrade--->captain greenskin.

Yeah it's kinda crazy how upgrade has become a strong card. I think it may even be worth running in some non pirate decks just to make up for the lack of death's bite.

I'm bringing this Dragon warrior deck to the NA Spring Prelims. It might look jank, but it's incredible.

Cool! I have been playing around with a similar deck since Blackrock came out but finding the optimal number of dragons and which specifically are worth running is tricky.

I'm surprised you don't run Battle Rage with Ghoul + Double Ichor in the deck.

I've also been screwing around with a dragon deck with mixed results. Just crafted Ysera last night. I'll post it later if anyone cares.

Just got my ass handed to me by mid range shaman and c'thun warrior. Neither game was remotely close, and it was clear my deck was massively underpowered both times. Unsurprisingly, Crusher and Faerie Dragon did not go from unplayable to playable for no reason. Game 3 Trogg, into coin Feral Spirit, into turn four 7/7, again not close.

Do dragon decks require 2x Twilight Guardian in general? I only have one atm.

i would say 2x twilight guardian to be pretty core in any dragon deck.

I've played ~70 games this season with my own variant of the deck and had a 57% winrate. It's definitely not optimised yet but variance is no reason to be a dick.

Seems like he's sort of factually wrong at least wrt Drakonid, the amount of healing lost in Standard has made Drakonid an MVP in many games for me. You just really have to plan to play more aggressively than you might otherwise in the early turns in order to get the full value out of him (2 Alex's Camps, the coin + a dragon card in hand helps with this, games can get out of hand quickly with this starting hand). But still at worst he's a 6 mana 6/6 and also is a dragon card so your Alex's Champ, Blackwing Techs, Twilight Guardians etc benefit from that synergy.

Speaking of blackwing techs, why are these seemingly out of favor now? I have been looking at various netdecks and few seem to run them nowadays. A 3-mana 3/5 seems really good on turn 3 even without taunt.

I think in warrior at least it competes with monkey and a 3/4 taunt is probably at worst equal to a 3/5 no taunt and usually better, plus it doesn't require a condition. Even if you get blackwing to be a 3/5 90% of the time that still means 10% of the time its a terrible 2/4.

I guess that makes sense. Plus even in the unlikely event that someone silences the monkey you still have a 3/4

The more midrangey list I would def change up some stuff. Southsea Captain is pretty underwhelming, would prob cut it for monkey or maybe something else.

I usually use monkey over them in warrior dragon decks that aren't aggro, because you don't always have a dragon to activate it and taunt is worth more than 1 health after t3. Plus I usually run Varian in that kind of deck.
