The old control warrior thread was a bit too specific and rarely used, so I thought I'd start us over.

Here's the two lists I used to go from rank 5 to legend this season. Pirate Warrior is a work in progress but surprisingly strong, especially against aggro shaman.

- I actually crafted the TGT Pirate Legendary because I needed moar pirates, you can often play him as early as 4, and he has a big fat ass allowing battle rage value.

- You can get some insane damage with the combo of pretty much any weapon, bloodsail cultist and upgrade. Initially I was only running a single upgrade but at the worst it allows you to lock down the board on the early turns with the weapon from N'Zoth's First Mate and at best it turns Arcanite Reaper into a slew of Fireballs.



Patron is also still very strong. The addition of Corrupted Hogger gives us an additional win condition and Black Knight is pretty amazing atm. Rag is in the list as a hail mary and because people are still playing super greedy.

I opened a golden Hogger just before seeing your post. The Old Gods obviously want me to play your list.

I replaced Ragnaros with a second brave and am doing ok so far.

That patron list looks nice, I'll try it out soon. I think warrior is in a good spot. Haven't tried C'thun control yet. Oldish control is still good. Dragon is even stronger, but doesn't use many new cards (if any).

Anyone got a good C'thun list?

ive been experimenting with c'thun warrior on EU. it's the only c'thun model i really believe works. still tinkering but will post it when it's refined

I've mostly been playing warrior since I want to get to golden warrior this month. First deck I tried was Cthun and I wasn't really impressed, but it definitely wasnt a refined deck. The cthun cards I used were the 2/1, the 4/2 divine shield, and the 3/6 taunt. Its an ok deck but I am not impressed with any cthun deck right now tbh.

Next I tried a "traditional" patron with no cards above 5 except grom. Again it did ok but the loss of deaths bite causes the big patron turns to come 1-2 turns later, thus making it easier for the opponent to have an answer. Rempels list looks a lot better than what I was running. It has more late game options which is what I think the deck needs. If i had new hogger I'd definitely try it out.

A lot of people have run this list to high legend and it is doing good so far for me. The only bad matchup I have seen is the new control pallys, but I have such a small sample size with this deck who knows what the matchups really are. Like rempel said frothings are insane right now. If you can get a frothing behind a taunt they usually have to use a hard removal on it letting your late game cards be more effective.

I have played that deck quite a bit the last few days -Sylv + Malkorok and while my results weren't great it was almost entirely variance imo. Should be a pretty strong list.

I might test Cruel Taskmaster instead of Huge Toad. There are also times when an Execute would be wonderful. Too many of those types of additions and it becomes more tempo and less aggro, I suppose. I've seen some lists with Upgrade but haven't tested it myself.

Tempo warrior just so strong right now

I've been running this deck http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/52977...ve-otk-warrior. Cheap deck where I had all of the cards from the packs I've opened and I didn't want to spend dust making. I'm still having issues with it, as it does involve a lot of planning and thinking.

I was watching Sjow play c'thun warrior today. He said it's the strongest warrior deck out there.

I did try that patron/worgen OTK deck and found that i would always win with patrons and never got to OTK with the worgen. But rampage is great in a patron deck because they will usually leave a 1 health patron alive and then you can rampage it and rebuild your board.

Brann+ancient shieldbearer is just so nasty

I played like 5 games of cthun warrior the other day and 3 of them lasted 20+ minutes ResidentSleeper.

not sure its the strongest but it def is strong. warrior is in a nice spot, they have the otk, the tempo, the patron, classic control, and cthun. maybe something else im forgetting! all seem good

I'm having tons of success with Pirate Warrior, the deck in the OP. Been going on a tear with it.

Often just win on turn 5/6.

Anyone got a good cthun list? I'm getting bored of tempo.

I went 6-1 with this deck last night at ranks 12-10. Only loss was to a control paladin, he got justicar down and it was gg

Games are slow, but there's a lot of potential here imo

I was like 12-1 with this deck but today i'm 0-11 so clearly i was running good. Maybe a good player could make it work not a ****** like me

It's something I would swap to when there are tons of Shamans around, otherwise other warrior decks are better in most matchups.

But what bums me out about this deck, I guess it applies to basically all pirate decks, is that you really need those pirate legendaries for the deck to be effective yet they're all but useless in non-pirate decks, especially Kragg

If I'd already fallen ass backward into those legendaries I'd definitely work it into the rotation but I just can't bring myself to sacrifice the dust on niche cards, I've done it before and still regret it

Might tech in TBK and try Leeroy in place of Malkorok.

If I was going to play pirate today I would most likely cut Black Knight. Greenskin and Malkorok are in the deck because they are a decent body with a nice effect but otherwise there are a variety of options for subs. Leeroy is in there because a lot of games you end up getting your opponent to sub 10 health and it gives you an addition damaging topdeck.

The most important cards in the deck are N'zoth's First Mate, Upgrade, FWA, Dread Corsair, and Cultist. Everything else is pretty optional. More pirates = more consistancy obv but otherwise build as you want.

I am unconvinced that C'Thun warrior > Control.
