I think this brawl is fine. It's not as imbalanced as last week. And, despite people's protests about it being full of aggro, it plays differently, so it's not the same old stuff you see on ladder. Plus, you can clear daily quests with it.
That's genius, I have a ton of normal 1 mana spells in the priest deck I'm trying out too. Same problem as Troggzor with "die before you play it" being a real problem though
I built a Shaman deck thinking I would get a lot of value out of the totems, but it was actually a turn 4 Echoing Ooze with two +2/+2 bananas that carried my weight. He even unstable Portal'd in to a 7 mana Deathwing but then got hung up on Feral Spirits.
Deathlords are doing well for me in this Brawl. On the rare occasion they do get swapped to only have 2 health, your opponent usually doesn't get much value since the decks are so aggressive anyway.
I was also thinking about it more. If the matchmaking for these brawls is based on wins then I see the probability of winning going down exponentially. Since they make you use your own deck/collection, the people who don't have the bigger, more powerful cards are eventually never going to be able to win. There is no way you can really keep up with someone who can just keep killing your minions. No amount of bananas is going to help you if you can't keep anything on the board.
wait did you guys know you can get different bananas?
There's the regular banana which is +1/+1 but there is also a big banana which is +2/+2 (also 1 mana) and a rotten banana, which is deal 1 damage (1 mana)
Edit: just got a deviate banana which is swap health/attack
Kibler was like 15-1 with his mage version. He has a much higher curve than I would think optimal: flamewakers, questing adventures, violets teachers, dragonkin sorcerers, loatheb, and archmage antonidas. He usually has a more cards than he can cast. I would have topped out at 3, like kirby did.
I didn't realize they were different bananas when I played and put the -1 banana on one of my dudes. Doh!
I'm convinced the bananas aren't equally weighted in randomness. There are 4 different banana types but you get the regular +1/+1 banana far more than the other ones.
ended up playing a few more games. 4-0 with mill rogue, 3 flamewaker decks one cancer zoo. flamewaker's all running echoing ooze and violet teacher, sooo easy...one big flurry and they never draw another card again....lol
