I'll concede that Nef is probably the statistical favourite when played optimally. Still very easy to beat Nef with Rag tho

If they don't use MMR for brawl then I'd expect most people itt to have an edge against a random opponent.

Today, in my games, Rag hasn't lost at all. Sample size is small, but I'm 2-0 as Rag and 0-2 as Nefarian.

Rag just needed to have a few cards swapped out. Flame Imps and Lava Bursts are just annoying pieces of crap. Lava Burst -> Fireball and Flame Imp into anything else that you can mulligan for and provides a little early game "1 mana, Summon two Magma Ragers" and I think it's perfect.

It's not going to be the crown jewel of Tavern Brawl, but it's a nice little kickstart that puts casual players on a level playing field and so forth.

TeenageQi thought Rag was superior, so we played a few games when I was Nefarion everytime and he was Rag so we could play test a bit. Rag is actually really tricky to play - it's not super OP imbalanced if you play him right. But even still, Nef just stronger. A lot of variance with the hero ability too. (One game I got shadowform, grr

)

I hope the other brawls are better, but this is an OK beginning.

Turns out Hero Powering Counterspell in combo with that 8 mana fill your board with whelps is a good counter play when Rag has brawl in hand from that one dude! Poor Rag player, I think he had a good shot that game too.

We don't know. The only thing we know for sure is that it will change every week and there will be instances where you have to make your own deck, with limitations.

I've seen screenshots of it showing your deck on the right like it's Arena and they said you can get X wins quest done in Brawl, so I guess we'll get a chance to make own decks with rules (No spells or weapons please)

Is there some goal with the Tavern Brawl that I have missed?

I see it as:

1) win and get a free pack
2) play for fun (because it's fun

)

5 seems fair value, but I'm not sure where it'd see play though. I think it'd be really good at 4, but maybe it'd get broken there. Some sort of zoo-like deck that already has board control could use it, buff one, kill something big, rinse/repeat.

Leave it at 3 mana, make it 4x unbuffable 1/2 Puppies, rename it "eat a bag of dicks Face Hunters"

Hope they get better, this week's was not only boring, but unbalanced as hell.

I think I went like 6-0 with Nefarian and like 1-3 with Rag.

I guess it's allowed to be imbalanced since it's a dumb mode only for a week, but if this particular match up ever reappears they need to address the balance.

Not surprised, StifeCo played it for 2 hours one day and went 9-0 with Nef and 1-2 with Rag.

This is a fun way to play when you just want to goof around and not think too hard.

Got Nef 4 times 2 easy wins, 1 close win, 1 loss. The loss I got some really bad spells, but the person playing rag played it well too.

Only got Rag, 1 time. 1 win. Towards end only way I would have lost was some terrible RNG on the spells. Was dreading a Pyro since I was at 9 health but dominating for the last 4-5 turns. Having Baron Geddon to counter the whelp fill up thing late game was nice.
