The Tavern Brawl Thread - Hearthstone -- Two Plus Two Poker Forums

Tavern Brawl mode goes live on Wednesday, June 17 at 10 am PDT. Each week, the mode is active until Monday at 3 am PDT. At that time, Tavern Brawl mode goes inactive while Blizzard polishes mana crystals or whatever until the next Wednesday.

Tavern Brawl is a new Hearthstone mode:

Each week, a different Tavern Brawl will pit you head to head versus another player using exciting and unique rules. One week might feature preset decks, while another week could have you crafting a brand new Tavern Brawl deck following specific guidelines, while others might offer buffs to specific minion types—who knows!

The specifics of what the conditions of the first brawl mode are have not yet been released.

For now, at least, Tavern Brawl will be free and you will get a free card pack for your first Tavern Brawl mode win of the week.

Went second as Nefarian. Rag plays flame imp. Wild magic gives me a sac pact.

What are the worst spells from wild magic? Shadowform seems unplayable except as a bonus two damage finisher.

yeah nefarian is totally overpowered.
i finally managed to win as ragnaros took me like 3 tries i think.
but it feels like a huge uphill battle.

I got totemic might the one game i died as Nef lol, also had another one where he dropped Molten and i hero power'ed into mind control, Nef is just so much better then Rag, but still a fun game mode.

game mode def has a lot of potential and i think it's gonna be cool overall, but this weeks is a total fail

don't understand how they tested this and concluded its a matchup thats remotely close to even

Not their weapon spells. I got a Preparation, which comes in handy when most of your spells cost 0.

I'm 2/2 with both Nef and Rag but I agree that Nef seems a lot stronger.

Fun to play though imo, although I assume that there isn't a lot of replayability this week after a few games.

Without knowing anything, I played one game, got Rag, looked at my hand and went "Wow, these cards are OP!". Then he played some huge dude and I noticed he started with 5 more mana than me! Then he cast a free Pyroblast, and I was like

Eventually though, I got both my Moltens and he started whiffing on hero power with Innervate and Naturalize and Ice Barrier and I ground him out. It was interesting, but not something I want to do a lot of.

I had assumed it was a one player thing and you just automatically got Ragnaros.

It's weird to think that I was playing against an actual person. I had assumed I was playing against an AI because he used Moonfire on one of my creatures seemingly for no reason. Nefarian definitely seemed OP though with his hero power though. I ended up winning the one match I played.

Now that I know I could go back and queue again to get Nefarian I might give that a shot.
