This is what I'm playing on EU and not spending a dime there. Need to get some more pirates and another agent, but I'm liking how this deck is shaping up. So much burst. I think if people want a f2p deck and don't wanna play mindless aggro decks that pirate rogue is definitely an option.

I actually really really like cold bloods. With south sea, tinker's and cold bloods it has so much burst potential.

lol pirate rogue is hilarious.

I just had an 11/3 bloodsail raider and 9 dmg dagger against a mechwarrior.

Having some issues game-planning Oil against Control Warrior. Should I be holding back anything? Most matchups I make sure I have some board control options in hand but against Control Warrior I think maybe I need to pressure more early.

You aren't going to beat CW very often as Oil Rogue. Basically you need to either run good or for them to run really bad. Early aggro is probably the best thing but normally it's not enough.

Gotcha. That's unfortunate cause I see it fairly often

It helps if you run shredder's in your list as your 4 drop. Gonna be tough regardless. If you have Edwin in your list you can win sometimes by going all in on him and them not having an answer.

Keeping Sprint is pretty good in your opener as would be Shredder's if you run them.

I run Shredder's but no Sprint. No Edwin either (f2p). Here's my current list:

2x Backstab
2x Deadly Poison
2x Buccaneer
1x Southsea Deckhand
2x Blade Flurry
2x Sap
2x Eviscerate
2x Kobold Geomancer
2x Novice Engineer
2x Fan of Knives
1x Earthen Ring Farseer
2x SI:7
2x Oil
2x Shredder
1x Assassin's Blade
1x Healbot
2x Azure Drake

I could run some stronger dudes in place of the Engineers/Geomancers. Been testing out a more cycle-focused list.

I don't have that big of a time with control whoreiorrs if I can keep their life total around 20 and have one of my south seas around and get my combo pieces in a timely fashion. But I play pirates rather than oil. Think it is easier to bait out their removals by throwing out crappy stuff for them to beat up while building up a good hand than regular oil.

I'm testing a list that's a bit more combo-oriented, like your pirate list Paul, but I don't have the cards to go full Pirate.

2x Backstab
2x Deadly Poison
2x Cold Blood
2x Southsea
2x Buccaneer
2x Autobarber
2x Bloodsail Raider
2x Novice Engineer
2x Eviscerate
2x Blade Flurry
2x SI:7
2x Harvest Golem
2x Oil
2x Shredder
1x Healbot
1x Sprint

Thinking I need to find room for a Sap or two. Maybe get rid of a Healbot for one. Not really sure on the Engineers and Golems. Haven't tested a ton but I think I like the Golems because they keep bodies on the board to combo with. Either could be Valiants or Ringleaders, but I worry about running out of steam so I like the draw (in theory).

Why not Gnomish Inventors instead of Novice Engineers?

For better mana usage?
Rogue! Quote

Hmm, hadn't thought of Inventors. Considered Drakes but thought I'd want the ability to combo off Engineers cheaply.

I was using Gnomish's before I got dust to craft stuff. I just like them best for basic cards that have card draws since 2/4s sometimes stick. Novices may be better just because you can dagger up with them on turn 4.

This list went terribly. Always felt like I was reacting and never gained tempo myself. Perhaps that was just misplaying on my part. Maybe I held cards too frequently to try to get their combo/battlecry/whatever to work ideally. As soon as they start dropping creatures with 4+ health I'm using 2-3 cards to kill them and just run out of gas.

Reworked the list a bit and am basically playing it as face Rogue.

2x Backstab
2x Cold Blood
2x Deadly Poison
2x Buccaneer
2x Southsea Deckhand
2x Blade Flurry
2x Evis
2x Sap
2x Bloodsail Raider
2x Goblin Auto-Barber
2x Novice Engineer
2x SI:7
1x Oil
2x Piloted Shredder
1x Sprint

So far it's done surprisingly well, but I have a <10 game sample size. Just lived the Deckhand + Deadly Poison + Cold Blood + Oil + Blade Flurry dream. Not sure if I like the Bloodsail Raiders.

Best success vs CW is going all in and just assuming they don't have it. Because if they have it you aren't winning anyway. My winrate pre TGT was almost 50% basically following that philosophy and having a deck that can burst w/ southsea.

The raiders are great if you run 1 tinkers and and ass blade and have made a huge dagger. The highest bloodsail I've seen is 11/3.

Took a break from Rogue for a bit but man... nothing else is even remotely as fun to play (at least for me and my limited card pool). On a 5 or 6 game win streak right now. Feels awesome. Here's my current Prepless Oil list:

2x Backstab
2x Deadly Poison
2x Deckhand
2x Evis
2x Blade Flurry
2x Sap
2x Undercity Valiant
1x Ring Leader
1x Novice Engineer
1x Fan of Knives
2x SI: 7
1x Farseer
2x Oil
2x Shredder
1x Violet Teacher
2x Drake
1x Healbot
1x Assassin's Blade
1x Dr. Boom

Not sure about Violet Teacher in a Prepless list. It's been decent so far I guess and it's sticky which is nice, need to play more with it.

Anyone ever tried Mana Addict in Oil? Kinda gimmicky but if it sticks even one turn that can end the game.
