...i am testing a new list that does not include the auchi package. Instead, it runs alot of early game minions and all the removals priest has to offer. Espacially SW:P feels super strong, a card that i had neglected in the past.
This deck works well against aggro/tempo matchups but has also chances in control games thanks to Curator, Entomb and Cabal. Paladin just gets wrecked.... No chance against Druid, but thats nothing new...

Shoot up 3 ranks, feels really good!

...looks good, but to less AoE for my taste. It seems like i do need them in every game i play, maybe i am doing something wrong. Would love to free up some spots by cutting them....

You have like 8 cards designed to work against 2 attack minions which seems like overkill (I'm including nova and deathlord). Also circle is there to work with pyro/northshire/injured blademaster at least as much as with AS imo.

Finally opened a ysera tonight, enjoying finally being able to run a dragon priest deck.

That card was on my shortlist for a while, but never got around to crafting it.

Looks like a slight variation of the same control deck everyone seems to be running right now. I started messing around with a summoning stone for late season lolz, it's been pretty funny. my favorite was stoning a trade prince gallywix, getting the paladin's muster for battle next turn, using it, then the muster for battle summoned a warhorse trainer from the stone. That's some pretty epic rungood there.

pretty RNG dependent, but I like things that mix the game up a bit because it gets so grindy. the turn 5 stone + turn 6 entomb is a pretty great curve to play on. Gain a ****load of momentum and a lot of 6 drops are actually pretty damn good. The stone makes a good inner fire combo target too.

Feels pretty gross losing our lightbombs, deathlords, and chows

I started playing dragon priest. Still not used to it as I keep not getting dragons to proc my buffs grrr! I'm thinking of adding a chlilmaw and/or nefarian so that if I have to hold a high mana cost card, might as well be a dragon so I can proc my cards.

I like running at least 8 dragons. And it's correct to keep an expensive one in your opener so you have one for your whelp and wyrmrest agent.

Running both nefarian and ysera might be overkill. But if you don't have ysera in there, then nefarian might be a good addition.

Its usually correct to keep a 4 drop dragon maybe even a 5 cost at times but don't hold on to a bigger one unless your hand is exactly whelp ,wyrmrest, huge dragon. I personally don't care for chillmaw it was OK to counter patron but these days war days don't think it makes the cut. I ended up playing boom as a second big threat he just outperformed the big dragons I tried before.

I'm seeing more and more murloc Pally. Such a brutal matchup

No chow, specifically bc of auchenai bomb, is a huuuuuuge nerf. Its the one deck you dont think about adding 2 copies bc it scales so well and is a 2/3.

Deathlord big deal too, as is velens for that specific deck.

I think this massively bumps cp down.

I just hate that deck in general, it feels like if they just do 10 dmg to you they auto win once they get anyfin.

Ok all, I'm pretty underwhelmed by the Priest cards in the expansion compared to the other classes. We got that 6/5 C'Thun minion, but it seems like it's not as easy for us to buff up C'Thun as it is for other classes. Don't get me wrong, I'll definitely try it but I'm not expecting much. I think one of the first things I'm going to try is a deathrattle heavy deck with N'Zoth. There's some synergy with our new legendary there. Honestly, I'm a little worried we might be descending into Rogue tier but hopefully I'm very wrong.

Edit: we still have resurrect which might be really strong in a deathrattle deck. I ran a few resurrect lists from Zetalot and it's a really underrated card.

Seriously though, I have a conspiracy theory that blizzard doesn't want Priest to be a top tier class because losing vs Priest is like dying a slow, painful death. Priest mains need to stick together.

I like the nzoth idea as well, made this deck yesterday:

I could get behind a combo nzoth/cthun deck. The question is wtf does priest do vs midrange. How does it stop 4 and 5 drops from overwhelming the board?

I think priest is going to really struggle against midrange Shaman and maybe hunter. I just theory crafted some decks that looked good and I kept thinking "how the **** does a priest player not get bulldozed by this..."

bah, I don't know if a deathrattle deck is very good. Our new 4 drop seems pretty mediocre since we can't really heal it since it only has 3 health. It just seems pretty bad to drop it since the minions coming out from other classes on turn 4/5 seem to be a lot stronger and an additional rng card isn't enough to offset the tempo loss. The new leg is really slow and hard to setup. That's just my initial reaction from a small sample of games yesterday but C'Thun and dragon decks just seem better at this point. I think Zeta was testing a deathrattle list though so I think I give it another shot with his deck since it's possible the deck I was using was poorly constructed.

The one card I've been really impressed with is forbidden shaping. You're never mad about drawing it since it's useful at every stage of the game. I was playing a dragon list with it and it was doing work.

I played a few games with zetalot's N'Zoth list and had some reasonable success with it. I'll play it some more this weekend. I had one big turn in particular dropping N'Zoth and spawing sylvannas/2x cairne (from herald earlier in the game)/2x corrupted healbot. that was fun
