Current list I'm running:
1x Zombie Chow
2x Equality
1x Ironbeak Owl
1x Knife Juggler
2x Shielded Mini-Bot
2x Aldor Peacekeeper
1x Coghammer
2x Muster for Battle
2x Consecration
1x Kezan Mystic
2x Piloted Shredder
2x Truesilver Champion
1x Antique Healbot
2x Sludge Belcher
1x Loatheb
1x Quartermaster
1x Emperor Thaurissan
1x Sylvanas Windrunner
1x Dr. Boom
1x Lay On Hands
1x Tirion Fordring
I feel like the Thaurissan is kind of a wasted card, but I don't really know what I would want to replace it with. I feel like the 3-5 slots are already plenty full and there isn't really a better 6/7 drop I can see that would fit this deck better.
Only things I would replace him with are legendaries that I haven't crafted yet, thinking either Harrison or TBK would fit better. For now I'm keeping Thaurissan in because I think he provides better value than a 2nd QM but I'm not totally sure.
I agree that Thaurissan is often a wasted card in Paladin unless you are running a slower build with extra card draw to make the mana savings more useful later. Thaurissan is best utilized in Combo decks, and in Paladin, it can often feel underwhelming.
Lately I've been running Piloted Sky Golem alongside Sylvanas in the 6 slot. It's a much more proactive card that can almost always find value. I will often swap in TBK in it's place if I'm facing a lot of handlocks and taunt druids. What's great about Sky Golem too, is it can contest things like Druid of the Claw and provide extra stickiness late game. So many good 4 drops that come out of it (including Shredder and now, Hungry Dragon
)
BGH normally finds value for me; I hover in the 5-2 rank range. I dunno about you, but it seems to be a heavy Handlock meta to me...and I'm guessing that has a lot to do with Trump trying to reach Legend 1 with that build this last season. I dunno if BGH is necessarily an auto-include if your facing tons of aggro, especially if you prefer the 2 equalities (I run one) then BGH may very well not be needed...however it does have the benefit of being an awesome Tempo Swing when it does hit.
Me and Kezan Mystic have a love/hate relationship. When your facing tons of mages and hunters, it's an absolute dream card. Two or three season ago, when mech mage was like 80% of the ladder, I climbed from rank 19 to rank 3 in 7-8 hours playing a double Kezan mystic deck instead of shredders...because when it hits, it normally hits pretty hard in the Tempo department.
Lately, I tend to lean on running two zombie chows (fights against early aggro, and procs mirror entity well) and have cut Kezan.
Loatheb is an amazing card as well, but hasn't been an auto-include like it used to be...I'd rather run two quartermasters tbh as that is a huge win condition for Paladin...often better than Tirion. Think about it, if you are disciplined in utilizing your hero power while being mana efficient, card advantage increases and finding value for QM jumps up as well... it also forces you to take newer lines of play while playing around AOE.
Those are my two cents. There is often no black and white answer as the meta seems more convoluted then it has ever been. I'll try and make a habit of keeping this thread more active as the meta changes.
