Hi all!

I just started playing Hearthstone and trying to get better at it. I have been playing for about 2 weeks maybe more and have played a lot. I decided to break up playing into two halves. The first two weeks of the month I will be doing arena stuff (I average less than 3 wins so far) and then the last two weeks I will grind gold in ladder play (highest I have been was 18). I noticed there was a gold cap of 100 a day, so I need 30 wins a day. That is my goal til the end of the month although I don't know how often I will hit it.

My best deck so far is a rogue deck I made just out of the cards you get to getting to level 10. I haven't picked up anything great out of the packs yet, and I don't want to disenchant anything unless I have more than 2 copies incase I kill off something I want later.

The rogue deck is currently 10-5 in unranked play and I will take it to the ladder probably this afternoon and see how it holds. I tried some other decks but they got squashed pretty badly

Yeah, that's the plan. Arena runs get expensive and since I really don't like putting money into these kinds of games I want to make sure I am recouping my gold supply, one of the many reasons I want to grind 2 weeks on ladder and 2 weeks doing arena runs.

If youre 100% fresh make sure you get accounts on all the servers. That way you can practice many more arena runs for free just by clearing your quests on each server.

But if I make a bunch of accounts on the different servers don't I need to get the cards and stuff all over again?

I mean I understand the idea of free runs, just seems like a lot of work just for an extra run or two. I'm also stat tracking on HearthArena so I don't think I could keep them all on the same account. I could be wrong though.

Same account, different servers. Different card collections on each server but uts not too tricky to get set up you just have to go through the tutorial on each.

Really wish I'd done this from the start. All my cards are on NA and i now have no desire to "start over" on another server.

Just go to ranked play if you made a deck. Don't think it's worth it to play unranked.

Hey everyone, sorry I've been away for a bit. Things got busy but I thought I would post an end of the month update on my ranked progress

I made it as high as rank 17 with pretty much the basic decks with a couple of tweaks here and there.


Some interesting stats:
Overall I went 306-284 for a 52% win rate
I played about 76.4 hours
Best Match-up is Druid (39-23)
Worst Match-up is Shaman (26-31)

My favorite deck was Mage, I went 74-62. I did buy some cards for it once I got some dust, so it is a little modified from the basic cards and some random packs:

So I am back to arena runs for the next two weeks to get packs and work on my deck building skills and such.

I already did one arena run today and got 2 legendaries in one pack. They were both the same so I started off my dust collection with 400

No point to play ladder if you don't have real cards, OP. My suggestion is to play Arena only until you get one or two viable decks.

Yeah I'm going to grind arena for the next two weeks and then the 2nd half od the month take a real deck on the ladder and see how far I can get. I did grind almost 2,000 gold so ladder wasn't all pointless. It should be interesting to see what I can build after my arena grinding, kind of excited about it.

Thanks for the support. I'm hoping after the next week and a half I will have enough cards and dust to make a run on the ladder. Until then I am just taking my time and enjoying the game and stockpiling. I'm not on any timetable but sooner or later I would like to reach Legendary.

So I pretty much ran through my 2,000ish gold in arenas in about 6 days, lol. I did a lot of arena runs and got some cards.

You can check out all the different stats there. I did bring up my win average which I am happy about. It seems that Paladin and I work well together and I have a better understanding for the cards I want. I liked Shaman a lot too but it just didn't seem to go well.

I feel like I got "coolered" a lot by going up against some pretty impressive decks early on and falling into an 0-1 or 0-2 hole. I'm not super worried or concerned or even interested in being a good arena player, but it's nice to see some cards I don't have and get some experience learning key concepts.

So I pretty much have decided to go back to grinding on the unranked mode since I seem to get a better winrate there and rebuild my gold for a week or so. After that I'll probably by some more of the levels in One Night to get that series cleared out or close to it.

I also started playing around with a c'thun mage deck out of cards I already had. I think I like c'thun and would like to keep at least one c'thun deck in my rotation.

I'm 29-31 overall so far in unranked for the month, should be higher but I was super tilted after a couple of top decks. So look for that to spike up over the next week.

Will update when I go back on the ladder Oct. 16th or if something awesome happens between then.

I applaud your enthusiasm and dedication. I think you should focus on creating a shaman deck if you're focused on quick success. Pally is in a bad spot right now.
