I've been able to defend the nr1 for 10 days now. Had to retake it maybe 7 times. Thinking I might wanna play even at r1 before patron nerf to get more of a lead.

I've never been legend before and I'm currently rank 1, 2 stars. I just played 6 games and went 3-3 and my adrenaline is pumping. Think I might just call it a day

How do you deal with ladder anxiety when you're this close to your objective? I really want to make it but I'm terrified of dropping a few ranks and losing hope.

couple things...first, you can take a breath knowing it's only the 19th...I've fallen from 1 to 3 and easily battled back to get to legend. This is the perfect time to just put your head down and go for it since you have so much time to make it back up in case you do tank it.

Also, who cares if you don't hit legend...you never have before, so no reason to "take it easy" or "be careful". If you tank it, well, you're at the same spot you were before and it's not the worst thing in the world.

Just go for it and allow yourself to lose...rank 1 is the same as rank 3, so you play your game and you got it.

Just hit legend with Patron. 61% win rate at ranks 5+, third straight month at legend. Feeling p good right now

I was dumbfounded by some of the mistakes I was seeing from legend ranked Patron players, made me feel like I could've gotten pretty high on the ladder if the nerf wasn't coming any day now. How does nobody figure out that you shouldn't drop a turn 8 tempo Unstable Ghoul against a Patron player that has already played Emperor?

Wolfram - I can relate. The feelings are pretty much exactly the same as what I would get from playing poker for lots of money back when that was a thing I did.

Sorry for repost but I jumped the gun in the main thread and can't delete now. Also wanted to add my stats.





Played just under 400 games total (~40 untracked). At first I wanted to play mostly secret pally but I got tired of the endless mirrors (I hate playing any mirror). So I switched to maining midrange hunter. That was working ok but the closer I got to 5 the smaller my edge seemed to be. Once I hit 5 I started idling and hit a 41-37 streak while bouncing between ranks 4-6.

So I switched to face hunter and went on an absolute tear:



Basically I was just farming secret pally's which are everywhere in this meta. I was definitely running above expectation, but I strongly think facehunter might be the optimal deck right now for laddering.

Congrats AS! I'm assuming you manned Secret Pally the whole way?

I played a midrange hunter to rank 5 and went the rest of the distance as secret paladin.

It's hard for me to make competitive decks since I am still relatively poor in the grand scheme of things. I started playing HS about 6-7 months ago and played arena exclusively until September. Have spent $50 on adventures and $45 on the TGT pack promotion. Other than that, f2p.

So I'm a little nervous about the 2+2 tournament, which I'm entering for the first time. I'll match up against anyone with confidence as paladin or hunter, but I can't really build the full competitive decks for other classes. I'm about 3-6 cards short of tempo/mech mage & combo druid decks. I'm wayyy short of making handlock/control warrior/dragon priest. Trying to figure out a good way to think about my deck #3-5.

I'm assuming you have Dr. Boom. You can make a cheap mech-mage deck with that and a couple of fel reavers. Not having antonidas hurts a little, mostly cause it makes your spare parts weaker, but it's not required for the deck. Anton is much more crucial for a tempo mage.

Got to rank 5 with aggro druid and then stalled out.

Switched to Secretdin and went 41-20 ish (a couple games didn't register), to make legend

Feeling kinda empty now. I don't know what to do now that I made my goal.

I did it my way, playing like every deck you can imagine, and not keeping track of any stats. I did stick to the same deck from mid rank 3 to legend. Mech Mage, baby. My own spin on it. The standard deck runs out of gas too much in terms of poor top decks IMO, so I added some bigger hitters to help that (and improve warrior matchup). My list runs Toshley and Blingtron, with 1 Fel Reaver. Basically just cut a 3 drop, and a 1 drop (5 instead of 6) for Toshley. I really like his 5/7 body, and the synergy with Archmage. Blingtron is even better. Love that card.

Wait, I was running 6 1-cost cards. Almost all my games were against Paladin or Hunter, so I cut a Clockwork Gnome for a single copy of Arcane Missiles.
