Why won't Blizzard give a more clear picture of the legend population every month like they did in Starcraft? Would that be giving too much away in how to adjust your decks?

I'd like to know %s by class--i know most players use multiple classes but maybe pointing out their dominant class? How does the ladder work in other card games like MTG online?

I think the problem is what you said--most people play multiple classes. Pros have to play multiple decks because tourneys require it (especially since Blizzard went to the Conquest format). So the result is that popular streamers (who are usually pros) also play many different decks. You can't just say that StrifeCro used Warlock to get to legend, because he plays a ton of Paladin, Warrior, and Mage also.

I'm not even sure knowing the class would be helpful. E,g., in Warlock, Zoo and Handlock are completely different play styles (similarly true for Patron and Control Warrior).

I know that I change decks simply based on my mood. Sometimes, I feel like playing an aggro deck. Sometimes I don't.

Starcraft is different because, except for the Random players, pretty much all the pros specialize in one race, which leads to most people specializing in one race also.

Agreed. I think it'd be awesome to have a database like they have for LOL of most played Heroes, most/least played cards, winrate in all of those categories.

im curious how many games they have. last month they had paladin, at legendary rank, with nearly a 70 win %. that's absurd! Looks like a ridiculous outlier.

also average win rate is > 50%, so it must only come from those reporting to hearthstats? if anything, average win rate below legend should always be slightly sub .500

Im also not surprised at the win rate for warriors in arena (40%, lol) but am surprised actually hunter is 2nd bottom. It's taken over paladin for my best arena class, which somewhat sickens me. Also, for constructed, sad to see Rogue both bottom popuarity as well as win rate - just really shows most people dont play it well, and bc of that, most people simply dont play it!

for class v class, it seems a bit off to me too. Like, who is reporting these games when they have Rogue v Paladin as 50/50... That's one of the biggest mismatches in hearthstone.

not sure I follow, I don't see the bolded part as being necessarily true depending on how the data is aggregated, for example if you make a run to legend with a 70% winrate with Paladin or whatever and I flounder at rank 9 with a 45% winrate or whatever and we're the only two players playing paladin winrate at rank 9 for pally will be greater than 50% thanks to you and in no part to me.

but overall data involves a lot more than 2 players. so yes, in that very specific, niche set of data, that would occur

It could be that people who use Hearthstats and Hearthstone Deck Tracker are more serious than most players and thus have a better win rate.

I mean, the situation I outlined was obviously extreme but there are a ton of factors when huge amounts of data is aggregated that could easily lead to several classes performing better than 50% at ranks lower than Legend. Particularly as you get to 5 and lower where you could conceivably run higher than 50% and end at the same rank over a large sample size.

got up to rank 6 legend NA a couple days ago. Won 2 games at rank 6 and..stayed at rank 6. Haven't been close since. Booooooooooo
