Yeah I think running 2 bows is kind of clunky

2 Glaive 1 Bow is better iyam

Bow is one of the best cards in the game imo. Playing two is mandatory. I've swapped glaive in and out for a long time and I feel like 1 is fine and 2 gets cluttered with bow. YMMV

Just went on an insane heater. Think I went from 14 or 15 to 9 I'm one session. Hopefully I'm getting the hang of midrange and it wasn't just all run good

I think giving up 1 (or even 2) bows is crazy. It has insane value in midrange where you and is like a sticky wolfrider in face.

Jeweled Scarab in face hunter. Thoughts?

You can draw Kill Command, Animal Companion, Eaglehorn Bow, and even Deadly Shot could be useful in situations. That's a lot of extra burn potential. Plus it's a beast and activates the Kill Command it can draw by itself.

If you mulligan scarab away in your opening, is it really worse than drawing a card you put in the deck? That's the question. In some cases, it's better. When you draw into KC or Bow, right? It's kind of like adding more Quick Shots in the deck.

I'm not just talking about mana or tempo in the opening.

Very often with face hunter you win or lose by 1 mana or 1 hp. Playing a 1/1 for 2 will often cost you too much tmp/mana during the window that you have to win the game (6-7 turns).

Maybe more like Hybridish Hunter. Cap out at Shredders. Run Scarabs over Highmanes (or Creepers). You never play Scarab t2 unless there's nothing else to do. It's just there to draw more burst. I agree that you're extending the game ~1.5ish more turns relative to face hunter.

Getting Scarab from a Spinner basically won me the game against a Control Priest.

I think the card has a lot of potential especially considering the fact that class cards have an improved drop rate. More likely in MR than in Face though.

I just haven't bothered trying it yet cause of that LEGEND push.

Up to rank 6 now. Definitely piloting better. I think my biggest improvement has been in better understanding how my hand and the game state should dictate my plays. I'm guessing that in the past I wasn't aggressive enough when my opponent was around ~15 health and I was holding weapon(s) + Kill Command, for example. Too tunnel visioned on board control.

Is 1 copy of flare worth running just to deal w/mysterious challenger or Ice Barrier even if it is pretty much useless against non-secret classes?

Also, thoughts on scavenging hyena combo w/ release the hounds or snake trap? I realize it's very situational but may help pull out a few games, does it survive or avoid being silenced enough to make it effective?

I run one flare in my midrange and I'm happy with it.

Up until LoE the meta largely involved Secret pallies/Mages/Huntards which are all matchups that flare improves.

The meta has slowed down thanks to Reno but with Secret Pallies and Freeze Mages continuing to run amok I've had no reason to exclude it.

I haven't tested it as much as I'd like yet. I ran them for a few games, then I changed back. Sometimes you have to play them t2, and it's a major loss of tempo. Obviously you want to mulligan them away and play them later. It's an ok play on t5 if you don't have Loetheb in hand, or need an answer like Unleash. It's awful t4, awful t6... yeah. Since you want to win games around t7-9 I don't think I like them.

A slower hunter deck could use them, but none of those are quite viable yet as far as I know. They don't fit feign death. I think Lock N Load decks can run them. Gives you plays early on when you want to just wait longer to LNL.

My reason for asking about face or hybridish hunter for Scarab was that you can end up in situations where you're floating mana "late" in the game. Drawing more burst on t6 in faster hunters is good, Midrange wants to drop Highmane though.

Midrange Hunter is good in every meta, just less good sometimes. Like, right now, I think Midrange Hunter is a bit worse than it was before TGT simply because the class didn't get much out of the expansion relative to others. I don't play much face hunter, it's probably fine, but worse since LOE.

I think Hybrid is probably the best Hunter variant in the current meta but I agree MR is slightly worse.

Went 6-0 with this attempt at control hunter. It's more like a midrange deck without as much reach, no skill command.

I never drew the Tomb Spider. It's the most questionable choice in any case. Maybe replace it with an Owl (maybe Scarab), and Loetheb. Sir Finley maybe unnecessary as well.

Hit Rank 6 with Midrange Hunter last season and have been playing other decks thus far this season for variety's sake. Ultimately not sure I enjoy anything as much as Midrange Hunter. Fun to play, requires thought/planning, reasonably strong.

9-4 so far using almost this exact deck. I don't have DR. Boom yet so I subbed in arch thief Rafaam. Haven't had 2 use Rafaam yet in this deck but I imagine if I do, it will get the job done with either a board full of 3/3's or giving a minion +10/+10
