I understand that this is not the "correct" place to ask this, but in the fantasy sports forum no one helped the guy who was asking nooby questions, so I figured I'd ask my HS bros. Def don't mean to derail bobbos rage or anything.

It seems like everyone is doing some sort of DFS something. Just wondering what people this is the best initial value to sign up with. As in the best bonus/least rake/most initial ev?

Seems like draft kings through rotogrinder for $600 is the best sign up bonus?

Again, don't mean to derail this thread just wanted some help when it looks like I would get little to 0 elsewhere on 2p2.

I haven't been keeping the closest tabs on it, but the $600 one is the best I've heard of.

I would be really careful about putting any money on DraftKings or FanDuel right now. They are getting into some hot water after last weekend when a DK employee won a bunch of money on FD and is being accused of using insider information. I believe ESPN has already pulled ads for the two sites. I would wait to see what happens before depositing anything. Don't wanna get black friday'd.

Edit: looks like ESPN is still running ads, but has removed sponsorship elements from within their shows

Saw the dude took some inside info and hit a big score, if I started it would be for a small amount to me, learned my lesson from Full Tilt . Tho it looks like as you sign up you can get any number of dollars free on your first deposit up to $600. As in it lets you type in how much you want.

But yeah, this **** looks like poker all over again with no real regulations right now.

Yeah, it takes a while to clear though. I calculated it before and I believe you have to pay 15k in entry fees to clear the $600 bonus on DK.

Yeah that's redic. Prolly just go for something like 200-300. Also you hit deposit on the site and are taken to a page with a timer counting down from 10 mins saying you only have 10 mins to deposit for your bonus. Well click off that page then come back and the timer has restarted....Good try draft kings, jopke.

And just somewhat on topic it looks like they let you bet on LoL games but not HS? Would be kinda cool if you could bet on HS fantasy.

Another hillarious example of entitlement:

I was listening to the Angry Chicken podcast and they had Ben Brode on for a long interview for their 100th show celebration.
Next day they get a comment from a listener saying basically "How dare he spend 2 hours on an frivolous interview when there are STILL BUGS IN THE GAME!!!"

sigh... people...

The whole economic system behind Hearthstone is pretty ****ty for the consumer. They create artificial scarcity out of these made up cards and people say "Well hey that's how Magic has done it for 20 years so just suck it up!" The whole idea behind having "rarity" of these cards is simply for Blizzard to make more money. Same with the reasoning behind "why are there bad cards?"

I have no sympathy for F2P complainers. I am F2P but I've worked hard for less than 6 months and now have a competitive collection including Sylvanas and Boom. I'll basically be considering myself 'caught' up to P2Pers once I'm done grinding through BRM.

Blizzard owes us nothing. F2Pers get to play because people sink money into the game. They have no right to complain, demand nerfs etc.

Yeah it's good for Blizzard but when people complain about stuff like these it's totally reasonable. The whole system is set up to for artificial scarcity, which creates haves and have nots. And the only way to become a "have" is to spend lots of time or lots of money or both. And as evidenced in the post above, people who have "made it" typically have no sympathy for those who have not (this is evidenced in the real world as well). Actually I bet you could do some kind of interesting paper with the correlations between the real world economy and virtual economies like this regarding economic inequality.

I would almost love for Blizzard to just shut down the game for a week, with a punishment message on the client "Dear players, you've been bad. You have lost all HS privileges for a week. Stop complaining and maybe we'll think about letting you play again".

ldo they're lose a lot of money, but would be funny as all hell watching reddit explode

Why is it ****ty?

You can choose not to play. If you do want to play you have 2 choices, either spend time or spend money. Again your choice. You also have a choice whether you really care if you want to win or not. You don't have to get to legend to enjoy the game. You can play arena the entire time as well. Arena, other than getting gold or spending money, has a very even playing field for the consumer.

Your complaints are fake.

A lot of the fun in the game is collecting and getting the fancy legendary cards. If there wasn't that part of the game, it'd just be like play money poker and we all know how fun that is. You can play a ton of games where collecting is irrelevant, this isn't one of those games.

To me it's obviously fun to win but it's fun to get new cards. I've spent around 100 dollars on the game but countless hours. At times it's fun, at times it's a drag, but that's true with any game. If you don't enjoy it, quit or find a way to make it better.

With that being said, the new expansion and meta isn't that fun to play. I still play but not as much as I used to--I'm also pretty busy with work these days.

The game does suck for a new player, but guess what it sucks for a new player in every game. In order to get better, just like in everything you have to spend time in it. Complaining about games is just stupid because you can easily just not play the game if you don't like the economy, rules or other players.

How about everyone wins? Would that make the game more fun?

Ha! This would be great. I doubt they would actually lose many customers over it either. Maybe do it for just one day on April 1st?

Also, Savage combatant is so ridiculously OP

Here is how I would nerf the best cards in the game:

Murloc Knight should be a 3/5 5 mana. Also should be a Shaman card, but whatever.

Piloted Shredder should be a 4/2.

Dr Boom's bots should be 1-3, not 1-4

Mysterious Challenger should cap out at 3 secrets, not 5

Innervate should cost 1 and give 3 mana crystals.

Hell no it's not "totally reasonable". Hearthstone isn't a basic necessity of life.

Transpose your argument to any other totally optional consumeristic leisure activity and then you realize how deluded their argument is:

E.g. golf. A lot of people spend thousands (tens of thousands?) on equipment and even more on green fees. Then you have the people who buy a used set and play on a municipal course. Do you hear those people crying about how unfair it is that they can't get the latest expensive golf clubs and play on the super-nice country clubs courses for free?

Or an example closer to home. Lets say the latest grand theft auto comes out and they relase a limited demo (no idea how this works anymore since I don't do console games, but just humor me). Suddenly /r/GrandTheftAutoX erupts with cries about why the people that downloaded the demo can't get the rest of the game for free. Would that be reasonable?

Edit:
I do however think their argument is understandable at an emotional level. It sucks to take part in something competitive and then feel like your success is being held back by something artificial and unfair. That's a basic human emotion. But sometimes you need to use the rational part of your brain and that is where these people fail.

Not to mention that a lot of the people crying are completely able to spend more money on HS to get the cards they so desperately want. They just choose to spend their leisure money elsewhere. To some its a badge of honor that they never spent a dime on the game.
